The defending Class 4A champions blitzed small town powerhouse Seiling. The Lady Bronchos led 41-20 at the half, and would coast to a 85-59 win.
Here’s a look at few of the prospects who stood out in the game.
Want an one word scouting report? “Wow.” From the opening tip, she was simply too fast and quick for the Wildcats’ defense. She lived at the rim because of that quickness, and would end up with 23 points and 9 rebounds on the night. Along with her dynamic driving, Vann hit on pull ups, had a big time athletic putback and had some great crosscourt passing. The variety in her skillset and athleticism will serve her well as she chases another Gold Ball and prepares for her college career at Oklahoma next year.
Bethany built an early lead and their superstar junior only had to pick her spots to attack. And when she attacked, it was impressive. A couple drives stood out with “how did she do that?” moments. There was a switch hands moved that ended with a left handed floater that in particular was high level. With the ability to glide by defenders, and finish with either hand at the rim. Lofton made the game look super easy as she scored 17 points.
Height and wingspan can’t be taught and those two traits make Vann a game changer around the basket. Her ability to rebound in contested areas is remarkable, as her long arms allow her to just snatch the ball away from the opposition. Which she often did successfully on both ends of the court. She was credited with three blocks, which she made look easy with her long arms.
To further highlight the depth of Bethany, the junior recorded a “quiet” 18 point and 11 rebound double-double. With great size, she’s comfortable doing it all on the court. Donley connected on the one three pointer she attempted, then got after it on the offensive glass. Where she recorded over half of her rebounds. The Lady Bronchos has a surplus of talent, with the size and versatility of the junior making them even more dangerous.
The leading scorer for the Wildcats, the junior lefty scored 16 points. What’s impressive is that due to foul trouble, she did it in only 21 minutes against the stellar and tall Bethany defense. In her time on the court, the lefty was efficient in her scoring, going 6-10 from the field. With her solid size and scoring punch, she looks to be a key part of Seiling’s charge to win a third straight State Title and seventh in the past decade.

It wasn’t the best scoring day for the senior, but it was clear the impact she made as a creator for her teammates. She consistently got paint touches, where her goal was setting up opportunities. During those drives and passes, she displayed a wide array of passes, with nifty tight window passes to cutters, kickouts to shooters and even a textbook bounce pass. Gore would finish with 6 assists for her efforts.
