1st Quarter: MTCS 10 Knox Webb 20
Halftime: MTCS 21 Knox Webb 35
Final Score: MTCS 34 Knox Webb 63
Green plays with a swagger that can’t be faked. She’s a do it all player. Great example of this: vs the MTCS zone, Webb flashed Green into the high post, where she caught a beautiful pass and then hit a shot fading to her left. Normally, a coach is going to put a “big” in the high post….but with Green you’re putting a “playmaker.” Green is a naturally gifted scorer.
Green hit a big three at the end of the 1st quarter to give her team a 10 point lead.
Green’s skill level is exceptionally high, but she plays with a nuance that takes a trained. She rarely forces the issues, and let’s the game come to her. She could probably go for 20 a night if she wanted to…but she knows that’s not necessarily winning basketball.
Brooklyn Bush
Brooklyn Bush
Bush is simply one of the best defenders in the Knoxvillle area. She’s long, bouncy, plays with great energy–she’s the type of “glue” kid that every really good team needs. For Knox-Webb’s post season hope, Bush gives them a perimeter defender that can guard opposing best players without wearing down Green or Taylor.
Bush showed a pretty shooting stroke in the 2nd half knocking down a quick three and extending the Knox Webb lead out to 20. I really liked her upside as a role player (especially at the private school level).
Taylor came out hot in this one hitting two early threes. Taylor is widely considered to be one of the best offensive players in the 2027 class, and she looked to come out and prove it quickly tonight. Webb has a high upside with the Green-Taylor combo being both youthful, hungry and skilled. Taylor came out aggressive tonight.
Taylor also really showed out on the defensive end, and proved that she can be a legitimate two-way player.
Highlights
It took Shirley a while to get going, as Knox Webb has some really good perimeter defenders, and she was hounded everywhere she went. Once the lid came off though, Shirley a couple quick threes. This MTCS team will rise and fall with Shirley, and they will need to figure out how to get her going vs teams like Knox Webb that has multiple high level perimeter defenders.

Graham is a high-skill-level 2026. Her stroke looked great, and she was very aggressive looking to get her looks off. For MTCS to have real success this year, Shirley will need another guard to help carry the load offensively, and Graham looked to be the best option for this.
Rucker proved to be a tough interior body mixed with a really nice touch around the rim. She went on a personal 4-0 run in the first quarter cutting the lead to 4 and forcing Knox Webb to call an early timeout.
Rucker is listed as a PF, but played comfortably on the perimeter attacking the rim. She’s a kid with loads of potential, as she also flashed some real defensive upside.

Katelyn Overton
Katelyn Overton
Overton came out, caught fire, and hit three three’s in 3rd quarter. Overton is an offensive “x factor” for this team as Green and Taylor will be the focus of most defenses. If Overton can continue to come out and be a consistent threat, it changes the way teams will have to guard Webb.
