Public VS Private: The Springs VS Steward

Highland Springs finally stopped the bleeding with a skip pass from [player_tooltip player_id='426016' first='Morgan' last='Boyd'] to [player_tooltip player_id='729017' first='Ah'kiyah' last='Pye'] for a three point basket! Pye went on a personal run reeling off back to back layups off of ball screens for layups! [player_tooltip player_id='426016' first='Morgan' last='Boyd'] got in the mix with a steal and took it coast to coast for a score! After a rough stretch for Steward, [player_tooltip player_id='376324' first='Sanai' last='Green'] ended the first quarter with a half court buzzer beater for a lead for The Springs 14-9!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2nd Quarter&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='376324' first='Sanai' last='Green'] got things started with a face up drive from the free throw line for 2 points. But a small Steward run was halted by back to back three point makes for Brianna Shelton, then followed up by a fast break score by [player_tooltip player_id='426016' first='Morgan' last='Boyd']. [player_tooltip player_id='300652' first='Ava' last='Johnson'] was able to make some much needed baskets with a much needed and one put back off a rebound, connecting on a foul line jumper and hitting a long shot from the top of the key. But right before the half [player_tooltip player_id='729017' first='Ah'kiyah' last='Pye'] was able to find Samaya Brown for a layup for the last score of the quarter for a 29-23 Highland Springs lead!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>3rd Quarter</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Steward continued the momentum with a quick [player_tooltip player_id='300652' first='Ava' last='Johnson'] layup and that was followed with a sick dime pass from [player_tooltip player_id='380004' first='Lilly' last='Thoman'] to [player_tooltip player_id='376324' first='Sanai' last='Green'] also followed by a long range three by [player_tooltip player_id='380004' first='Lilly' last='Thoman']. Pye had to get to work and she did, answering with a and one basket to stop the run! Off of a set play Lilly found [player_tooltip player_id='376324' first='Sanai' last='Green'] on a great alley oop layup followed by another three pointer by [player_tooltip player_id='380004' first='Lilly' last='Thoman']. Then it was a crowd pleasing frantic scrum from both teams that amounted to nothing and kept the game at bay until [player_tooltip player_id='729017' first='Ah'kiyah' last='Pye'] had a game changing pickpocket steal and found [player_tooltip player_id='426016' first='Morgan' last='Boyd'] for a layup. Boyd was busy the last minutes in the 4th she hit two a game big time baskets and hit two free throws to send the game into overtime tied all at 45-45!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>OT</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The OT got started with a nice crossover layup by [player_tooltip player_id='822152' first='Kailyn' last='Taylor'] that was followed by and one  basket by [player_tooltip player_id='729017' first='Ah'kiyah' last='Pye']. [player_tooltip player_id='380004' first='Lilly' last='Thoman'] got fouled and split the free throws and later hit a jumper as well.
