EYBL Circuit Session 1- 2029/30 Standouts from the Southeast

Many teams hit the road this past weekend for the first NCAA live period of the AAU season. The EYBL circuit was held on the west coast in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Convention Center. There were twenty-four courts filled with an abundance of talent and the baselines were full of college coaches watching intently. Among the deep pool of talent there were several prospects from the southeast that stood out with their strong performances on the court.    Makensey made the most of her time on the court by being the floor general and verbal leader. From the tip, Dillard showed high IQ on the defensive end by always being in the right position whether it was on ball defense, one pass away, or in help side. She was always in a defensive stance with her arms extended pointing at the ball and at her opponent she was guarding. It was very clear that she was also communicating with her teammates at all times letting them know where she was. That is all coaches' dream to have a true floor leader that can demonstrate and verbally express themselves.     A very talented forward that does a great job of running the floor and being an impact presence on the court. Her athleticism jumps off the chart when you watch her run and rebound. She is a natural leaper which shows up in the stat category under rebounds and blocks. Newby is very active on the defensive end causing a lot of havoc from her deflections. Offensively, she likes to attack the rim aggressively.     A flashy combo guard that loves to attack the rim off the dribble. Zoe does a good job of using her length and one on one skills to create shots from the behind the back and cross over dribbles. She is definitely a playmaker with a scoring mentality. As she continues to limit turnovers and get stronger, she can be elite at the next level.     A high energy guard that makes things happen by dribble penetration that leads to paint touches. Once she is in the paint area Odoms does a great job of decision making. She normally knows when to score and what type of shot to take. She also does a good job of not forcing shots and making the read for the pass to her teammates. Sanaa works hard on defense by creating a lot of steals by her hustle plays.     Julia is a well-versed skilled athlete that can do multiple things at a high level. Her elite skill set allows her to be able to put the ball on the floor and create, knock down shots from the perimeter and even use back to basket moves when she has smaller defenders matched up on her. She is definitely a matchup problem for most teams. She is really good from the hi post area setting ball screens and making plays off of the rolls and flares. She can catch and shoot it from the three or she can roll hard and make a play at the rim.     Singletary is still flying under the radar as one of the best 2030s in the Southeast region. She continued to impress by averaging more than 17 points per game on the circuit. There were multiple games where she was shooting the three balls at a very high clip and sometimes over fifty percent. When defense would take away her perimeter shot, she did an excellent job of putting the ball on the floor and attacking. She has a silky-smooth pull up jumper where she elevated right over the defender's head. Lailah also had her share of steals that led to easy transition buckets for her.     A post player that continues to get better every time she steps on the court. Her physical size and strength are a huge plus for her down in the paint area. She continues to finish well and is using an array of moves. Summons gets to the free throw line often due to her physicality on the low block and her rebounding skills. Ariel is a tough defender as well protecting the paint.     An absolute baller in the 2030 class. Heavenly displays maturity out on the court with a skill set that is high level. Seeing her play for the first time was a real treat. She is aggressive with the ball in her hands and knows how to score in a variety of ways. Her shot has excellent form, and she is physically strong for her grade level at the guard position. She is a Phenom at this early age!     An explosive guard that loves to get to the rim. Londyn finishes with contact extremely well. She is able to finish the old fashioned three play by scoring layups and finishing at the free throw line. She plays with a lot of positive emotion and excitement on the court. Faison always looks like she is having fun while competing at a high level. She is smooth with the ball off ball screens and makes good decisions with her passing game.     This young player has a lot of bounce in her game. She plays light off of her feet and is always able to get up over people to score with her leaping ability. Lacy has dynamic one on one moves and always reminds me of players in the WNBA. The sky is the limit for her if she continues to put in the work. She is a true competitor and will not back down to anyone.
