Jeta North had a strong summer playing with Boo Williams showing her aggressiveness inside the paint. She will battle on both ends of the court going after rebounds, and she keeps repositioning to get the entry pass from her teammates to score. She can step outside the perimeter and knock down some shots from deep, too.
Ma-Kaela Gidney has quickly risen as a leader for her Hickory Ridge team. She does a nice job finding the open lanes and being ready to show off her shot from deep even in transition. She is quick on defense jumping in front of passes to grab the steal and score off of these turnovers. Even if she isn’t the one scoring the basket, she seems to be involved in most plays whether she is attacking a gap, making the extra pass, or crashing the boards for rebounds.
Highlights
Kennedy Jackson is part of a young core at Wesleyan Christian that are fun to watch. Jackson brings some sharp shooting around the perimeter that she can consistently hit even with hands in her face. She knows how to make some nice passes into her teammates to get them involved, and she uses all of her wingspan on defense to deflect passes and protect the basket.
Highlights
Kara Brinkley has the ball handling of a guard and the post movs that can help her be effective in the paint. She can swing the ball making some fakes or using some up and under moves to score off the glass. She doesn’t back away from contact inside, and she can step around the perimeter to knock down her shot. She knows how to get the right pass into her teammates hitting them in stride.
