At the beginning of January, we updated our rankings for the Class of 2027. Not only did we add 25 new prospects to the overall list, but we also introduced the first true Top-25 for 2027 on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. Below is a look at five of those players from the point guard list. They aren't necessarily the top five players at the position; this is simply a look at five of the prospects who are currently somewhere within our 2027 list.

[player_tooltip player_id='834926' first='Averi' last='Amstutz'], 2027, 5-5 PG, East Noble H.S.
- Averi has been a huge addition to the Knights' lineup, as she helped East Noble to their first winning season this year since the 2016-2017 season. Averi was responsible for 9.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, plus she shot 51% from the field. She is a tough-nosed, high-motor, feisty guard who gets after it. I will be anxious to see her this Spring and Summer against top competition on the grassroots circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='834939' first='Kayla' last='Herron'], 2027, 5-7 PG, Culver Academy
- Kayla is actually an Illinois resident who is enrolled at Culver Academy in North Central Indiana. She is a long, wiry, fluid, and smooth point guard prospect who has contributed a great deal to CMA's success this season. She is averaging 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, plus she's knocking down 37% of her 3-point shots. She's another one I will be anxious to see this Spring & Summer with her Illinois grassroots team.

[player_tooltip player_id='756239' first='Riley' last='Huotari'], 2027, 5-6 PG, Franklin Central H.S.
- I really enjoy watching Riley play, and I think she's going to be a good one long-term. She is a part of a crucial 2027 class at Franklin Central, and while others have drawn more attention, I feel like she is the most important to their success because of her ability to facilitate. The Flashes have needed a genuine floor general for some time now. She is quick, feisty, creative, and she can find open teammates. She's averaging 4.0 assists per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='751032' first='Abigail' last='Orme'], 2027, 5-3 PG, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.
- I first saw Abigail at our PGH Indiana Freshman Showcase in the Fall, and she was a standout. She plays compact and low to the ground, she has a great motor, toughness, and no quit. She loves to penetrate and put pressure on the defense, but she also understands her size and how to find teammates. If she can continue to grow as a scorer and make teams have to defend her at the 3-point line, watch out. She has played a little on a loaded HSE team.

[player_tooltip player_id='751103' first='Marley' last='Warren'], 2027, 5-5 PG, Trinity Lutheran H.S.
- Marley is another one I saw for the first time at our Freshman Showcase event, and she flashed a great deal of potential. For Trinity Lutheran this Winter, she has been critical to their success, averaging 14.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for the Cougars. She's also shooting 35% from 3-point range and 71% from the charity stripe. Marley is a tough-nosed, high-motor, competitive guard with balanced skill.
