A lot of these players have gotten the job done on the offensive end, but they have alao gotten the job done on defensive end, rejecting shots and sending them into "the stands". In this article, we look at some of the top shot blockers that I've seen in the gym this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='515102' first='Madilyn' last='Ray'] is the top shot blocker on First Coast and was the top shot blocker in total blocks in the State of Florioda, through 20 games with 101 blocks. Only 1 player in the State has a higher shot blocking average per game. Ray has gotten the job done on the offensive end and on the glass. She is averaging 9 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and has had 9 double-doubles.

[player_tooltip player_id='808194' first='Anjela' last='Tumsifu'] is a good shot blocker who has averaged 2.2 blocks through 14 games. I saw her last week and she was a force at the "Duel in Duval" tournament. Tumsifu blocked several shots in that game and on one possession blocked 2 consecutive shots and kicked the ball out to her guards to start the fast break.

[player_tooltip player_id='656074' first='Ar'Nayshia' last='Griffin'] is another good shot blocker and I've seen her numerous times returning shots back to senders. Griffin is a versatile player who plays on the inside and outside. She averages 1.6 blocks per game and has been impressive on the offensive end with an average of 17.1 points per game. Griffin also averages nearly 11 rebounds per contest. Griffin is a very versatile player who can play all 5 positions on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='346854' first='Jolena' last='Gardner'] is another good shot blocker and a versatile player as well. Gardner plays various positions on the floor and averages 1.9 blocks per game. Gardner can shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor and is an agressive player that doesn't back down from anyone on the floor. Gardner is good at blocking shots in defensive transition and also when anchoring the middle.

[player_tooltip player_id='633529' first='Mia' last='Chandler'] has led her team in shot blocks througout this season and sits at 1.7 blocks per game. Chandler also averages 8.5 points per game and 7.3 rebounds. She does a good job of playing on the inside. She makes timely plays on defense and is known for making blocks at crucial times in the game. Last year, Chandler had a game saving block in the closing seconds of the district championships to preserve the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='248551' first='Alanna' last='Tatum'] is a really good shot blocking guard, especially when getting back on defense and protecting the rim. She does it from the guard position, which is super impressive. Tatum has a great vertical and last year at a showcase, she put on a shot blocking clinic, rejecting guards, forwards, and centers. Tatum is explosive and one of the best shot blocking guards in the State.

[player_tooltip player_id='527277' first='Cami' last='Waters'] is a very good shot blocker who makes timely blocks. Waters is best at blocking shots in defensive transition. Waters averages right at 1 shot block per game.

A lot of these players have gotten the job done on the offensive end, but they have alao gotten the job done on defensive end, rejecting shots and sending them into "the stands". In this article, we look at some of the top shot blockers that I've seen in the gym this season.
