Friday Night Insights (Weekend of Jan 12 & 13, Part 3)

attack the rim and has some clever finishes in her bag.  She also defends her tail off.  Nice to see the senior going out with a great she goes!  Hurst finished the district win vs upstart McMinn County with 26 points, 11 rebounds, 6 blocks, 2 steals, 11-16 from the floor, and and 2-3 from 3.  That's ELITE.  And that's why she's a top 50 player in the country.  This was perhaps the most dominant performance I've seen from can get similar production from Hurst, [player_tooltip player_id='810500' first='Emma' last='Smith'], and Brewer.  Brewer is unsigned, and has a college ready ran the show perfectly vs McMinn.  She's a high energy kid that is sometimes is guilty of making the high risk/high reward plays instead of simply make the sure/solid play.  Versus Mcminn, she was solid.  8 points and 5 assists, and lead like a PG.  Well done young lady.  The sophomore PG has a ton of senior LMU commit passed the 1,000 mark for her career this weekend.  She's been a rock solid scorer throughout her carer, but is also a great example of a player that didn't rely on her scoring to get a big time scholarship.  Laney has always played the right way, played unselfishly, is a gritty defender, great teammate....and naturally the 1,000 points is a by product of going through the process successfully.
