As the regular season comes close to an end, there have been a lot of milestones reached. In the midst of the achievements, there is still some good basketball being played. In this article, we look at some of the top performers from this past week.

[player_tooltip player_id='515067' first='Makala' last='DesJarlais'] was a standout this week. I got to see the young power forward several times and it's unanimous- she is going to be a good one. She has the ability to rebound the ball and can score the ball on the inside with power and physicality. DesJarlais has great size and plays the game with an aggression that follows in the mode of teammate [player_tooltip player_id='248345' first='Clare' last='Coyle']. She scored 15 at the end of this week, but she also made an impression earlier in the week and at the Duel in Duval as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='495953' first='Jiyah' last='Hamilton'] has been playing well and really stood out this past week. Hamilton can shoot the three, rip to the the midrange, and get to the basket. It is really a treat to watch Hamilton in transition. She plays the point guard position like a RPO quarterback. She is good at taking the break to the freethrow area and reading the play. She passes it to the cutter, pulls up for the jumper, dishes to the corner, hits a cutter filling the line, etc. She just takes what the defense gives her and is a very good playmaking guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='419934' first='Abby' last='Price'] had the jumper working and hit 6 theee pointer in one game last week. The confidence was just as noticeable as the shot itself. Price is versatile and can play the 1, 2, and 3 positions on the floor. Price can get to her spots on the floor and she can get her shot off anytime she wants. Price has good court vision and she is also a good passer who can get the ball to her teammates on the inside or on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='221649' first='Markeli' last='Jones-Tynes'] has a special week, reaching the 1000th point club. This is no surprise and was expected the day she walked on a basketball court. Jones-Tynes is a special player who can score from anywhere. Her change of direction and pull up midrange are potent. She can score in the paint and get to the basket almost anytime she wants. She is one of the top players in the State in any class.

[player_tooltip player_id='495942' first='Asya' last='Jones'] (cover) hit the 30 point mark and is making a push toward the 1000 point mark. She went over 800 last week. Jones has always been a good scorer in transition and in the midrange area, and this year she has added a more consistent long ball. Offense isn't the only part of Jones's game that is noticeable. She has always been a good on-ball defender and amongst the leaders in steals. Jones is having a great season and reaching personal goals. Whether it's 800, 900, or 1,000 points, Jones has made her mark.

[player_tooltip player_id='248263' first='Karishma' last='Ortiz'] had an impressive double-double last week (16 points and 10 rebounds). The playmaking Ortiz can hurt a defense in a lot of ways. She can score on the inside, on the perimeter, and getting in the paint. She leads her team in scoring with over 11 points per game.
