Woodgrove
Before this past week, Woodgrove really had not been tested. They have scored 100 points twice so far, and their closest game was a 14-point win in early December. They came into the week 11-0, and their lone game for the week was away against a 10-0 Briar Woods team that had been cruising. Woodgrove went in there and won a close competitive game by 8 points. What impressed me the most about this was it was a new way that Woodgrove won. They are used to blowing their opponent out and scoring a lot of points, but they won a grind-it-out defensive game. They withstood a terrific Briar Woods crowd and an energized Briar Woods team that went on a few huge runs in this game. [player_tooltip player_id='260613' first='Sadie' last='Shores'] had an uncharacteristically poor game, and [player_tooltip player_id='332117' first='Angelina' last='Nice'] wasn't a massive factor until the 4th quarter. This was an impressive win for this Woodgrove team, and they will be really hard to beat.

Potomac School
Potomac School opened their week up with a 7-point win over an excellent St. Andrews team. They were great defensively, led by [player_tooltip player_id='816642' first='Zora' last='Burrell'], who I shouted out in my players of the week. Then, on Friday, they played Sidwell Friends. They lost this game by 9, but this showed a lot to me. Sidwell is one of the best teams in the nation, and if you can play a game as competitive as this was with them, you can compete against anyone. I loved what I saw from this Potomac School team this week, and they bring almost everything you want from a team. They have abundant talent like [player_tooltip player_id='633711' first='Sabrina' last='Anderson'] and Catherine Letendre, who will give this team a lot on offense. Their bigs are fantastic, and [player_tooltip player_id='816642' first='Zora' last='Burrell'] provides this team with all the energy and defense they need.

Osbourn Park
Osbourn Park went 2-0 on the week and showed why they are as good as any private school in NOVA. On Tuesday, they took care of business against Osbourn, winning by almost 30. Then, on Friday, they had one of my favorite wins of the week with a 6-point win over Gainesville on the road. OP had Gainesville's number last year, beating them four times in four close games. But these teams are different as players have moved on, and the ones there are a year better. I had this game circled, and Osbourn Park gutted it out. They were also missing one of their best players, Alexandra Brown. They had some issues on offense early, but as the game wore on, they looked more and more comfortable. Sophomore G/F [player_tooltip player_id='555428' first='Keyarah' last='Rainey'] had a monster game with 30 points. It was a massive win for a great Osbourn Park squad, beating a top-ten-ranked team in the state.
