In our final segment, we look at the ladies who finished in the final 3 of the 2A classification . As you all know, the media and the coaches have spoken. We have some very talented hoopers in this classification, with a ton of notable young ladies who didn't make the cut. Trust me, I know the results had to come down to the wire for sure.

For those who don't know, the Miss Tennessee award honors the best player in each classification (We will have a total of 6 of them: D1-A, D1-AA, D1-AAA, D1-AAAA, D2-A, D2-AA). The award honors the young lady who had the best regular season. Postseasons such as the district and state tournaments aren't accounted for or are a part of the selection process. It's purely based on the body of work done from tip-off of the first game to the final whistle of the regular season.

The 2A classification in my opinion has some studs in it that are some true ball players. The votes that came in had to be close. When you have such a talented pool to choose from, I guarantee you that there had to be tons of debates that went on. As usual, the numbers had to speak for themselves. This classification as a whole is tough to deal with o a nightly basis. They battle it out every time they step on the floor.

Without further ado, check out the young ladies who dominated the 2A classification and are the 2023-24 finalists for the 2A Miss Tennessee Basketball award.

[player_tooltip player_id='408995' first='Reese' last='Beaty'] (5 '7/Jr./PG/ York Institute)- The Clemson commit is one heck of a ball player. Tough . You all know that. She's been doing this for so long, the kid is such a phenomenal talent. A multi level scoring threat who has incredible court vision , court awareness, and plays the game with such tenacity. She's a true leader for her club and she does so in so many ways. Averages 20.4 ppg, 40% from 3, 87% from the foul line, 6.6 rpg, 3.8 asp, 1.6 spg. Geez. Just thinking about these numbers is crazy. Clemson got a steal in this kid.

[player_tooltip player_id='290939' first='Micah' last='Hart'] ( 5'9/ Sr./ PG/ Gibson Co.) - Creative player who is no stranger to hitting the bottom of the net. Surpassed the 2,000 pt mark in her high school career, she is a true bucket getter that can score it from all over the floor. A fierce competitor, Micah exploits her opponents weaknesses with ease. 22 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4spg, I mean talk about a ball player. She's a hooper and when it comes to getting it done on the hardwood, she brings all her toys to the party. She's hard to stop, hard to beat, and a true leader amongst her peers. Solid kid who continues to get better each and every game.

[player_tooltip player_id='245364' first='Maddy' last='Newman'] (6'1/ Sr./C-F/ Gatlinburg-Pittman)- Big time player that commands big time attention. She anchors the paint and is lethal in many facets of the game. Defensively, she owns the boards, blocks shots, clogs up the lane. Offensively, nice back to the basket moves, has a nice middy jumper, great in the pick n roll action, solid on our backs. This season, she is averaging 20 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 1 block per game. I can say this, seeing her both in the high school scene and the travel ball scene, she can fit and play in any scheme. She is a solid talent who just gets after it. A Tennessee Tech commit, she is an exciting prospect that will hit the college scene this fall. But before she goes, look for her to help GP get deep into state contention.

Like I mentioned before, the 2A classification scene is super tough. These girls can hoop. Period. Though only 3 girls can be finalists, here are some young ladies who just missed the cut.

[player_tooltip player_id='624614' first='Lilly' last='Kee'] (5'11/Sr./F/ Huntingdon)- A strong and fierce competitor, Lilly was no stranger to putting the ball in the hole. Surpassing the 1000 pt mark as a junior, senior year was just a launching pad from that performance. A walking double -double nightly, she averaged 20pts and 10 boards per game. What I can say is this, this kid put in the work and to see her development and maturation of the years is awesome. She's a hard working kid who has a tremendous work ethic. Solid kid who will land somewhere at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='245358' first='Molly' last='Masingale'] (5'9/ Sr. / G/ McMinn Central)- Whew. She is just built different. Hard nosed country strong kid who has a sweet left handed jumper. Can carve an opponent up from the inside or the perimeter . Tenacious defender, a bucket getter, such a tremendous all around two way player. 20 ppg ,7.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, 3.6 spg, 1.4 bpg, over 2000+ career points. I'm tired from rattling off all those numbers. The kid is a phenomenal talent and Wofford will be getting one heck of a ball player.

[player_tooltip player_id='405707' first='Erianna' last='Thomas'] (5 '4/Sr./PG/Pearl-Cohn)- Idk why the little engine that could pops in my head. ET doesn't let her size determine her altitude . She's a gamer who brings it every time she steps onto the hardwood. She gets buckets from 3 or by getting paint touches. She's a dawg on the defensive end, locking up opponents, making them shake in their shoes. 16.8ppg, 5.5rpg,6 asg, and even had a quadruple-double this year. I mean the girl is talented. A heady ball player who plays the game with a passion.

[player_tooltip player_id='409003' first='Ally' last='Weathers'] (5'9/Jr./G/Loretto)- Athletic guard who has the bloodlines of a tremendous athletic family. The kid is super talented and can do it all on the court. Surpassed the 1000pt mark this year, it is swish after swish when this girl releases the rock. A heady ball player who competes her tail off. Averaged 18.9ppg, 6.6rpg, and 4apg. Plus she is a tremendous leader and a phenomenal teammate. A great overall player who will continue to get better.
