The Stingrays a new program from Bluffton is coached by former Vanderbilt player Matthew Fisher-Davis. The Stingrays cruised to a win over the Lady Patriots 59-28 today. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='856288' first='Ryan' last='Mayers'] a new name for the database finished with 12 points. Mayers finished baskets around the rim with both hands here today. Ryan moved well without ball while showing to be a very unselfish player.

Stingrays Rely on Freshmen:

[player_tooltip player_id='616144' first='PJ' last='Benson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='856286' first='Lexann' last='Maldonado'] both helped the Stingrays advance to the 2nd round today of the SCISA Class 1A Tourney. Benson a point guard finished with 14 points while setting up the offense from out top. PJ the primary ball-handler here showed good court awareness here today in the win.

Maldonado a forward was able to convert some short jumpers while also showcasing good hands down low. Lexann finished with a jump hook when she was not scoring on a putback here today. She finished with 10 points.

Lady Saints Defeat Lady Crusaders:

The Lady Saints playing without [player_tooltip player_id='331899' first='Grace' last='Owens'] a 1,000-point career scorer prevailed today in the opening round of the SCISA Class 3A State Tourney. The Lady Saints got strong play from Claire Owens (Grace's sister) wearing her sisters jersey number and post player [player_tooltip player_id='386571' first='Payton' last='Rumley']. Claire came out on fire dropping three balls from downtown to get the game started. Rumley is a physical post presence who really likes to play the game with a blue-collar mindset. She does her best work close to the basket and seems to be effective closer to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='831289' first='Campbell' last='Childers'] will be a name to follow in the many years to come. Childers a point guard is a member of the Class of 2029. Campbell just a 7th grader runs the show for the Northside Christian Lady Crusaders. She logs a lot of minutes and never looked to come off the floor. Childers really liked to use a nice little crossover move a times on the way to the cup. She played poised for her young age out on the floor.

Top Perfomers Today:

[player_tooltip player_id='257992' first='Teonna' last='Draughn'] - Cardinal Newman

Draughn EXCELS in the transition game and in the open court. Teonna scored several buckets at the rim today for the Lady Cardinals. She showcased a willingness to play up-tempo and speed up the game whenever possible. Draughn has no problems creating her own shot and setting up her teammates. Teonna scored 22 points in the opening round win vs Wilson Hall.

[player_tooltip player_id='429820' first='Zaria' last='Thompson'] - Cardinal Newman

Thompson is a big, bodied post player already for her young age. Zaria really likes to play the game on contact and bullying defenders down low. She really needs to stay out of foul trouble to say on the court. Zaria has very nimble footwork from block to block and the ability to overpower defenders down low with her size.

[player_tooltip player_id='363182' first='Courtney' last='Campbell'] - Hilton Head Prep

Campbell helped the Lady Dolphins to advance to the Quarterfinals to play rival Hilton Head Christian next week. Courtney finished the night with 29 points in the win over Carolina Academy. Campbell plays the game with a lot of grit and savvy at all times. She constantly makes herself available at all times on the floor with her play. She constantly plays the game in HUSTLE mode. Can the Lady Dolphins advance to play another day?

Ryley Jolly - Augusta Christian

Jolly finished with 16 points in the Lady Lions victory over Pinewood Prep. Riley dropped a few mid-range jumpers in the win today. Ryley was able to slash to the cup and constantly played around the basketball all day long.

Seniors Farewell:

[player_tooltip player_id='255965' first='Ruby' last='Kate Amos'] - Carolina Academy (Lake City)

Amos finished with 18 points in her last high school game.
