Man, Alcoa has a bright future! Alcoa won their area with ease, and Garner showed flashes of dominance, including a 17 point, 15 rebound performance. Ronique has the length and athleticism to be dominant high school player, and it’s been great to watch her begin to build the foundations of a terrific player.
Alahna Powell
Alahna Powell
The Englewood Lady Rams, the defending state champs in their division, were unfortunately upset and their post season is done. Alahna Powell, however, should be recognized for her contributions to last years state championship team as well as the season she’s put together. Last season she was the 3rd leading scorer behind two potential D1 kids (Lilly Wright ’28, Malea Masingale Malea Masingale 5’10” | SF McMinn Central | 2027 TN ’27). This season Powell averaged 16 points a game and become one of the better perimeter shooters in East TN. Really looking forward to watching this kid at McMinn Central (yes….McMinn Central).

I’ll continue to say that Huffman is one of the best “under-known” ’28s in the state. The kid is incredibly deadly in transition, and slithers through space in half court as she instinctually attacks the rim with force. She has the entire finishing package, along with nice footwork and length, that make it really tough to stop her once she get a paint touch. Cleveland MS won their area and will be a tough out.
Harper Stinnett
Harper Stinnett
I cannot wait to watch TN’s ’29 class develop as its full of kids that are already posses HIGH LEVEL skill. Some kids, though, have a unique mix of high level skill, and intangibles that cannot be defined. Harper Stinnett is that kid…as the 7th grade has put together two post season games of over 20 points on a LOADED Alcoa team. Stinnett is different…
Azariah “AZ” Lee
Azariah “AZ” Lee
The electric 7th grade guard led her team with 19 points, 10 assists, and 4 rebounds in a win over North Middle, advancing to face Alcoa on Thursday in a game that he kids are calling…..”smoke.”

Lee is tremendously athletic and just devastating once she get’s down hill. She’s also the type of kid that LOVES to defend, and when you mix all the natural tools that Lee possess (length, athleticism, etc) with a “want-to” and I’ll show you a game changing defender.
Ava Ingle
Ava Ingle
The ’29 “point-forward” is simply a unique ball player, and a rising star. She an inside-outside high efficiency scorer that has added the 3 ball to her arsenal. She’s one of the best passing “post” players I’ve seen at her level. Unique in that she comfortable playing with her back to the basketball, or attacking the rim off the bounce. High level rebounder as well. Simply does everything well.
Faces Cleveland MS on Thursday.
