Well, you can put down the Lady Gamecocks as state champions of 2024 now. Sumter defeated Rock Hill HS tonight 60-42 to claim the SCHSL Class 5A State Championship. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Last Time in State Championship Game: </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rock Hill won the Class 5A State Championship just two seasons ago defeating Summerville HS 52-44. The Lady Bearcats finished the 2022 season at (26-3). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sumter HS last played in the State Championship Game vs Clover HS in the 2020-2021 season. The Lady Gamecocks suffered a loss to Clover HS 40-38 to become runner up that season. Kiarra finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Croskey was able to get the ball into the gaps and finish plays at the bucket. Chloe finished with 10 points after scoring 20 points vs JL Mann HS in the Upper State Championship Game. [player_tooltip player_id='253658' first='Aubrey' last='Stevenson'] couldn't get things going tonight before fouling out with just 3 points.
