In the article below, we highlight five prospects that did a great job of showing out in their own special ways throughout the past few days, while helping their teams compete each contest.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Finley Blackmore Finley Blackmore 5’11” | SG Ankeny Centennial | 2025 State IA is one of Iowa’s most underrated prospects when you break it down. Blackmore is a Guard with a nasty dribble, solid shooting ability, smart head-on her shoulders, and that was a full display this past weekend in Coralville. If you sit down to watch Blackmore throughout the high school season, you know what Blackmore brings to the table. She is an accurate offensive weapon and she can stick with anyone at the Guard position defensively. This Pure Prep 17U group is a sound one. They have a play maker at Point, knock down shooters and scorers from the Wing spot, and two or three big Posts that can eat up space in a hurry. As long as everyone plays for one another and they trust to make that extra pass every time, they are going to put together a really impressive next few months on the road.

I think that Presley Zeutenhorst Presley Zeutenhorst 5’6″ | SG Southeast Polk | 2027 IA ‘s best basketball is in front of her, as she has been a constant over the past couple of months on the hardwood. Zeutenhorst is a mix between a PG and a SG at the moment. She is someone that can be trusted to bring up the rock when she has able-bodied Gaurds along with her or she can step up, scoring from the 2 spot in the blink of an eye if you don’t pay attention to her. This past year has been somewhat an odd one for Zeutenhorst as she tries to figure out her spot on floor. She is being played at both the 1 and the 2 right now, in almost every program that she laces up with. Once she is set to a specific position and she can lock in on that, she is going to be a handful for anyone trying to matchup with her on the defensive side of things. This past few days, Pres and her Kingdom hoops team put together some impressive contests. They displayed what is it like to run some solid offense in a 5-0 or 4-1 set, while being stingy on defense. A recipe that usually leads to a lot of success on both sides of the ball if you ask me.

When you sit down to watch Haylee Stokes Haylee Stokes 5’6″ | PG Estherville Lincoln Central | 2025 State IA compete, it’s a thing of beauty. It doesn’t matter if it’s on the high school floor or during the travel session. Anytime she has the ball in her hands, she is going make a play in one way or another and that was something that was a constant this past weekend yet again. Stokes is committed to compete with Minnesota State, the current D2 national champs, and I would be shocked if she didn’t see the floor as a Freshman in that program. She is truly that impactful. Her handle is second to none, she is an elite scorer from all three levels on offense, and she has active hands that lead to a ton of steals on defense. During the high school season, Stokes gets undervalued some-what because of the competition level but don’t let that fool you. She is a D1 talent and I think that is going to shine over the next few seasons into her college career. Just wait and see.
An emerging talent out of the State of Iowa, Mylee Stiefel Mylee Stiefel 5’5″ | CG Burlington | 2027 IA is a Guard to know from the 2026 Class. Stiefel is someone that could compete on any floor placed in front of her, against any competition that may stand in her way. She is a shifty Guard, that has an act for making the right play while coming down the floor. She is someone that always handles her personal matchups, while playing aggressive help side defense when her other teammates may have been beaten off the dribble in the half court. Stiefel maybe one of the most promising prospects from this state, that many don’t know about but it’s only a matter of time. This past weekend, Stiefel’s skills were on full display. She was making plays, setting up her teammates, and scoring herself when the opportunity seemed fit. She has raw skill, athletic ability, and she understands situational basketball. Three things that are going to be really important in the long run.

Melina Snoozy Melina Snoozy 5’11” | SF Bishop Heelan | 2027 State IA is a prospect that competes out of the state of South Dakota for AAU season with Stanford Sport but in the state of Iowa for the high school year with Bishop Heelan. Snoozy is the #1 rated player out of the 2027 Class in Iowa and for good reason. Coming into her Freshman year, Snoozy competed as a an 8th grader out in SD on the Varsity level, leading her team in most statistical categories during that season. This prep was just what she needed to help improve her game. As of most recent, this past weekend Snoozy compete with her Sanford Sport 15U Black team and they did well. She was her normal self, scoring a high rate off her patented jumper and getting others involved at every opportunity. This program, and team, are really solid. They are known for developing prospects and that’s what is happening here at a high rate. Snoozy is a next level talent already, who holds a handful of D1 collegiate offers. If she continues to get better, the sky will truly be her limit.
