With most of our coverage hovering around high schoolers, there are many new faces and opportunities for freshmen to capture the spotlight for the first time at these big tournaments. Here are the 2027s from Michigan’s neighbor states who put on a show for us Michiganders on Saturday.
Ava Van Vonderen Ava Van Vonderen 6’0″ | SG Kimberly | 2027 State WI has athleticism and height that separates her from other 27′ guard prospects. She was an elite performer for Wisconsin Flight 2027 EYBL at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She was one of the most efficient outside shooters on the day, knocking down many 3’s from the top of the key. Ava showed her vertical power on an impressive left finish off two feet at the rim. She is a lights out shooter I will look forward to seeing again this spring.
Highlights
Haylie Dulas Haylie Dulas 5’11” | SF Kimberly | 2027 State WI physically dominated on both ends for Wisconsin Flight 2027 EYBL at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She showed her ability to win battles inside by catching an entry pass and finishing strong off the glass, then extended her range outside to drain a 3 from top of the key. Haylie has excellent body control and balance as she walked up on defense to force a missed shot on a downhill drive. Haylie was one of the top forwards on the floor for her class.
Jada Seubert Jada Seubert 5’9″ | SG Stevens Point | 2027 State WI was one of the quickest and strongest downhill guards of her class at the April Showers Classic on Saturday. She flew down the court full speed and converted a layup at the buzzer. Jada split through defenders with quick dribbles and knocked down a floater in the paint in traffic. She has the ball handling control, speed, and strength that makes her tough to stop with one defender.

Keyaira Haywood Keyaira Haywood 5’5″ | PG Dunlap | 2028 IL is a 2028 who shined playing up with Mac Irvin Lady Fire S40 on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. She has tight handles with the ball and uses a variety of behind the back snaps/crossovers to create space. Keyaira turned on the jets to chase down an offensive rebound going out of bounds and made an impressive one handed entry pass with her left to hit a cutting teammate in stride. She plays aggressive on-ball defense and is a guard I will look forward to seeing again this spring.
Highlights
Keniya Todd Keniya Todd 5’11” | CG Dunlap | 2028 IL was an exciting prospect to see compete for Mac Irvin Lady Fire 15U S40 on Saturday at the April Showers Classic. She showed no problems playing up as a 2028 and was ferocious in the paint on both ends. Keniya blocked shots in the paint and forced missed shots by keeping her balance with great positioning defending drives. She skied up for rebounds, used good pivot footwork, and forced turnovers combining her length with ball pressure. Keniya can handle the ball using push out dribbles in transition and drive to the rim. She will be a prospect I need to watch again this spring.
