Keniya turned up the heat on the defensive end, slashed to the hoop, and competed at a high level for Example Sports 17U Wolfpack, turning in an impressive Saturday performance. She sprinted the floor in transition, caught passes in stride, and finished layups with ease. Keniya chased down an offensive rebound, attacked hard down the baseline, changed hands, and finished with a sweet left-handed reverse in traffic. She showed off her athleticism by deflecting a baseline out-of-bounds pass, scooped up the ball for the steal, then accelerated up the court to score a fast-break layup with her left. Keniya was a standout performer on both ends of the court.

I’m not sure where Keniya Todd is going to end up for college ball but she is going to shock some people with her raw ability on both ends of the court. Todd is 5’11 with athletic skill to boast about. She looks more comfortable working by the bucket compared to on the outside but she can spread the floor. She can move to the perimeter and attack off the dribble if her matchup calls for it. Defensively, she does a good job of sticking onto her matchup and moving into help side if need be. Todd had another good showing during this event. She just needs to keep stacking her days and who knows how far it will take her.

Defensively, Todd has everything you need in a long guard. She picks up full court, she gets through screens, and has no problem playing up on the ball every possession. She’s a guard who makes her matchups uncomfortable and never lets them get into a rhythm. She’s just as fast laterally as she is running straight, and that was a big reason for one of their wins in today’s game.

Todd is still adding to her offensive skillset from an individual standpoint, but when it comes to scoring within the flow and system of the game, she can do that. Her biggest attribute is what she brings on the defensive end, and the amount of pressure she puts on ball handlers never lets up, no matter what point it is in the game. There is still time to even out the skillset, and when she does, she could continue to raise her stock.

Todd continues to shine on the defensive end, even while the offensive side is still growing. A player who can guard 1 through 3 and bring that kind of energy every time out is not something coaches pass up. The frame is long, the athleticism is easy to see, and it will be interesting to watch how the offensive side continues to come along.

Todd falls into the category of a true two way player, and the fact that she brings the same level of energy on both ends at this age makes her development path that much smoother as she continues to grow in the game. Her skill set is versatile, and when you pair that with her length and athleticism, you get a player who is only scratching the surface of her potential as both a skilled prospect and a high level athlete.

Todd has been on a tear since she got into high school, and now she’ll be the main focal point for his new program. She’ll have 3-5 sets of eyes on her every night, and though some players might not be able to deal with it, that will not be Todd’s case. This kid is dominant and aggressive on both sides of the ball. And if the offers provide a clear view of her potential, this move could be a showing of another level of her game.

The offers rolled in this summer, and I don’t believe they’ll slow down at all. Keniya is one of those prospects where you see how hard she plays even before you notice the skillset, and then when you dissect her skillset, you realize her potential is sky high. She has the length, the energy, and the mindset to control a game on both sides of the ball.. and when you make your mark on the boards too, it also shows how hard you’re willing to play to win. This kid has that attitude and that drive to be great.

One of the more versatile players in this class, and I truly believe she’s only been playing off pure athleticism and feel, which says a lot because there are moments in her game where you see how skilled she is at her age. She’s a part of a big 3 at Dunlap that could easily compete with anyone in the state, and I think this year she could be that unguardable presence simply based on her size and versatility.

Todd’s name preceded her, as I received an assist a few weeks ago, yet let me say this: her ceiling has no roof, and she’s not only “long and athletic” but, at times, ultra athletic. She defied gravity to score around the basket, she gave me some acrobatic finishes, but watching her play the passing lane as well as pick pockets was impressive, as she does it instinctively.
