The DMV is home to many elite,, national level programs and at the heart of their success is a bunch of frontcourt standouts who have been making waves so far this season. Here is a look at a few.

[player_tooltip player_id='303119' first='Meghan' last='Yarnevich'], Fairfax Stars, 2025, Power Forward

Meghan transferred to Bullis last season and had a big year. Thiis year she has moved over to Fairfax Stars for a different EYBL experience and so far, she has been showing out. Her scoring ability creates double teams and as point forward she is able to pick apart defenses and set her teammates up. She's an excellent rebounder and post defender and has picked up some Power 5 offers for her efforts.

[player_tooltip player_id='433800' first='Arianna' last='Harris-Mott'], Boo Williams, 2026, Center

I gave Arianna our defensive player of the year award because she is a force to be reckoned with. She controls the defensive glass and throws quick, accurate outlet passes to get the fast break ignited. She has excellent timing on her shot blocks and usually keeps the ball in play as opposed to swatting shots out of bounds. Her offensive skill set is still emerging. She is racking up big time offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='433840' first='Kiera' last='West'], [program_tooltip program_id='750645' first='Team' last='Melo'], 2026, Power Forward

Kiera had a great season for South River, anchoring their defense and showing the ability to guard multiple positions. She has carried that over to the summer and her confidence is growing. She should come back to South River ready for a big high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='239453' first='Zhen' last='Craft'], [program_tooltip program_id='712942' first='Team' last='Takeover'], 2025, Small Forward

Zhen is having quite a summer so far. The 6'2" athletic forward has narrowed her list of schools down to 12 and was invited to the USA Basketball 17U trials. She's a big-time prospect and we will be seeing her do some big things in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id='363322' first='Kaliyah' last='Murphy'], [program_tooltip program_id='815866' first='Team' last='Durant'], 2025, Power Forward

One of my favorite players to watch, Kaliyah brings it on both ends of the court. She has excellent length and athleticism and the ability to apply lock down defense at multiple positions. She has a nice sized bag of D1 offers and should pick up more this summer.
