This weekend was one of the biggest events of the year during the Summer AAU season in Nike TOC, Nike EYBL Nationals, & USJN/BlueStar all taking place under one roof at McCormick Place in Chicago. This weekend annual brings in over 7000+ girls to compete over four days, eventually crowning a champion for each age group and event on the final day. In this article we highlight some prospects that stood out for their performances on Friday and the Live Notes I wrote down while watching them compete.

"One of the smoothest players I saw throughout this first day competing was [player_tooltip player_id='766456' first='Malaina' last='Hackley'] of [program_tooltip program_id='712595' first='Kingdom' last='Hoops']. Hackley has been a shifty and creative PG, that can get to anywhere on the floor she wants off the dribble. In her first contest of the day, she has been getting to the hoop at Will, dishing out some nice assists, and working hard defensively to stand out. This season at Roosevelt she should cook as a starting Senior and I can't wait to see that because she has been in a ton of work up until this point.”

“The mixture of size, athletic ability, coordination, touch, and natural skill that Ari Peterson competes with is very impressive. As she has been competing up with her [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] 16U EYBL team, she has been a main focus to their schemes on both offense and defense. This is someone everyone needs to learn about quickly because she is going to be the future of the EYBL sooner, rather than later. She could be that good of a talent at the end of the day."

"The more I watching [player_tooltip player_id='311377' first='Mya' last='Crawford'] compete, the more I love the heart she plays with. Crawford is your ideal role player on her AIA 17U EYBL team. She comes in for spot minutes when needed, she can defend better than most at the guard position, and she hits open shots when she does decided to take them. From a coaching perspective, you can't ask for much more. During her first few games she has been one of the most exciting to watch on the EYBL level and I hope she builds on that going into day 2.”

"Offensively is the real deal. Her ability to get the ball to go through the hoop at such a high rate is very impressive to say the least. I don't even think impressive would be the word to describe it to be honest. The feel she has for her own game, basketball from a situational perspective, mixed with her confidence makes for an elite competitor. Whoever gets her at the next level is getting someone who could single handedly beat some programs because of her scoring ability alone.”

"Pratt has always displayed next level athleticism and that hasn't changed for this last tournament of her AAU career. She has demonstrated that she is fast enough to play any position asked of her on either side of the ball while being athletic enough to recover if she ever gets beat off the dribble. I have a feeling she will contribute at the next level with the Redbirds before you know it because of her natural versatility and willingness to adapt. During day 1 of this weekend, she has been a handful for the opposing team to deal with but that's nothing new if you know her capabilities.”

She demonstrated today that she does everything well and at a consistent rate yet again with her CCS AAU program. She is a top rated prospect out of her 2025 Class in Nebraska for a reason and she continues to play like it going into her Senior year.”
