The Run 4 Roses Classic tournament has been a staple of the first July "live" period for years, but with the changes in the NCAA calendar over the past couple of seasons, it has split into two separate tournaments...the Classic and the Championship. The Classic wrapped up Saturday and the Championship began Sunday, with some new teams arriving from other locations. Below is a look at a half dozen prospects who stood out when I was able to see them on Day-1.

Laila got going early and often against the Wisconsin Flight in their Sunday afternoon EYBL matchup. The strong and athletic point guard has been entertaining to watch all Spring & Summer, and she excels as a pin-point passer who typically puts the ball right in her teammates' shooting pocket. She was aggressive defensively, she created/collected a number of steals, plus she was able to get to the rim and score it inside. She recently gave a verbal commitment to the University of New Mexico.

Meg is a quick, fast, and feisty lead guard who has put together a nice Spring & Summer grassroots season. She flies around the floor making plays at both ends. She can really get under opponents defensively, causing them to panic under pressure. Offensively, she's great at getting gaps, collapsing defenses, and finding open teammates. She can knock down an open jumper as well. She can definitely stand to get stronger for the next level, but she could be a nice small college guard.

It was nice finally seeing Mackenzie back on the court after missing a great deal of the Spring injured. She is a strong, athletic point guard who always plays with a motor. She can take care of the ball and handle pressure, she can absorb contact and get to the basket to finish, plus she is a willing and capable distributor. Additionally, she'll knock down open rhythm jumpers, if you play too far off of her. There have been several schools wanting to see her, so her recruiting should pick up quickly.

Elise was very active in her team's win Sunday afternoon, especially from the mid-post and in. She was aggressive off the bounce, getting to the basket and finishing, plus she did a nice job of changing directions in traffic. She was physical boxing out, plus she pursued rebounds outside of her area. She has always shown nice touch from the perimeter, but her willingness to contribute in several different ways makes her a much tougher matchup.

Elle is one of the most intriguing prospects in Indiana's 2026 class, and I feel like she's still somewhat under the radar. She is incredibly long, wiry, but fluid. As she finishes growing and gains strength, she should continue gaining explosiveness. She has a solid handle, an accurate jump-shot with some range, plus she uses her length to cause a lot of problems at the defensive end of the floor. Look for her to have a breakout 2024-2025 season for the Bulldogs.

Sevan recently joined the [program_tooltip program_id='712574' first='Indy' last='Magic']-Scott E40 17U team and offers them another athletic guard option. She has nice length, speed & quickness, and she seems like a tough kid who does a little of everything. She is active and athletic defensively, causing problems, plus she rebounds her position. She is aggressive on attack and likes to get to the basket or knock down the 15-foot pull-up. She can also make an open rhythm 3-pointer.
