Early Bird Day

Today is national "Early Bird Day"! While it's technically supposed to revolve around getting up early and being the first to stores and restaurants, we'll replace that with first to the gym. While people may arrive early at stores to find the best deal, players that arrive early to the gym can sometimes find the best offer. There are plenty of coaches and scouts like me that LOVE the "Early Bird". I'm going to give you college coaches, 5 players that I've seen are willing to be that early bird.    The star of the show right here. I generally arrive very early to events, like early enough that the gym isn't open yet. Dottery usually beats me to the parking lot. This type of dedication to the game and her improvement can almost guarantee that she maximizes her potential. Dottery is an athletic guard that can score fro,m multiple levels.     Wright is always ready to take advantage of an opportunity to get better and gain exposure, so she's seen often in the gym. She's never late. She's never even on time. She's always early. Wright has a clear cut understanding of what she needs to do to be the best player that she can be. Wright is an athletic 2 way player that can play the game at a high speed.     Banks seems to really cherish every opportunity she gets to be in the gym. Makes sense that she's usually one of the first to the gym. This goes right with her dedication to becoming the best player, person and student that she can be. Banks is sure to be a high quality addition to a college program with her approach. On the court, she has an excellent combination of power and finesse.     Straub has a reputation as an early bird when it comes to getting to the gym. At any event, she's usually one of the first faces that I see. Straub walks in with a quiet confidence that carries over to the basketball court. She's a smooth forward that can attack from a variety of spots on the floor. Straub is just the type of program player that coaches at the next level look for.     Titus grew up around elite basketball and knows what it takes to be great. That shows in her early bird status. Titus will be at the gym guaranteed and she'll be there sooner rather than later. Titus has a tremendously high upside. That's especially exciting considering the tremendous growth she's seen in her game over the last year or so.
