We uupdate our rankings three times per year. We do this because it is inevitable that players will outplay their current ranking and new players will show that they are deserving. Here are ten guards who have wheel it takes to move up.

[player_tooltip player_id='584286' first='Grace' last='Richardson'] - I saw Grace in Auburn a few weeks ago. She was ultra impressive. Her ability to break down the defense at will was on display. Not only that, she showed some excellent floor vision, hitting open teammates when the defense collapsed. She has been a great guard the past couple seasons as far as being a stat stuffer. Her senior season could be a huge one as the leader and go to player for her team.

[player_tooltip player_id='584250' first='Kayla' last='Jones'] - After leading her team in scoring the past couple seasons, she could be among the leading scorers in the state next season. She has improved her overall game, especially as a three point threat. She is the clear go to player for Ferris and has already showed the ability to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='502376' first='Isabella' last='Ramirez'] - Also watched her for a bit in Auburn. She has everything you need to be a great point guard and one whose skills translate to the college level. She has the length, skills, and experience to help her to a breakout season and plenty more college offers. I was impressed with her ability to break down the defense and find open teammates. She also showed a pure stroke from three. High IQ, prototypical point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='586268' first='Syesha' last='Simanton'] - A downhill player to say the least. I watched games where she was tough to contain and keep in front. She is relentless in getting to the basket. She is strong and can finish through contact. She gets to the free throw line and keeps the defense on their heels. Should be a big season for her and an interesting Bellevue team.

[player_tooltip player_id='502388' first='Mia' last='Brockmeyer'] - Mia has a great skill set as a guard who should be making a big jump in scoring next season. She is skilled and crafty and plays under control. She handles pressure well, making it look easy at times. She can be effective scoring on all levels using that craftiness to make herself a threat in the mid-range. She shows all signs of having a great junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='941896' first='Gracyn' last='Meyer'] - She was one of the top performers at that same Auburn tournament in my eyes. She might not have been on the leading scorer list but she was a consistent point guard who showed enough skill in all areas to make a big impression. She got into the lane constantly, making good choices after the fact. She wasn't bothered by pressure although teams tried to bother her. she knocked down open looks and was a good on ball defender. She basically put on a clinic in point guard skills. Tahoma is guard heavy and may share point guard duties but if she has the rock it should stay safe.

[player_tooltip player_id='584299' first='Hayden' last='Kaut'] - She is coming off a state championship season. Her team lost three starters and she looked good this off-season. With more looks sure to come her way, she is a safe bet to average 20 plus next year. She can really shoot it but has the length and skill to score from anywhere. Don't be fooled by the fact that she plays at the 2B level. She is a legit prospect and would be a good player on all levels. This will be her fourth season of varsity basketball even though she is a junior. All signs lead to a huge season in 2024-25.

[player_tooltip player_id='688516' first='Natalie' last='West'] - There is a lot to like here. She has great length on the perimeter to go with the guard skills. She can shoot it from three with deep range. She knows how to attack the basket and gets downhill with a purpose. She has some versatility, allowing her to play 1 through 3. She could even be put in the post and be effective. Her ability to finish at the basket stands out along with an improved jumper. She was solid as a freshman at Redmond. I can see her taking that next step in 2024-25 as a consistently higher scoring threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='588440' first='Maddy' last='Jewitt'] - She made a big impression in Bellevue last summer at the Top 250. She plays at a smaller school and could be effective in the post but she has talent scoring on tough drives and shoots it well from three. She is a tough but smooth player who attacks the basket. She uses that toughness combined with craftiness to finish effectively around the basket. She can handle the ball well enough to create her own. The overall skill level is solid. She surpassed 1k points last January and is a certified bucket getter. She also has the strength to bully her way to the hoop. Big things are on the horizon.

[player_tooltip player_id='925070' first='Brandi' last='Stanford'] - Part of a great three guard attack along with the Cordis sisters. She was big last season averaging 19 points a game. She loves to get downhill and has that toughness around the basket. She uses a variety of skilled moves to get there, being effective off the dribble. She is effective in the mid game. She can make threes, although if she improves in that area her game will open up even more. She, Simanton, and Richardson all have that same ability to get to the rack. They are all relentless, and I expect all to rise on college's radar as the season progresses.
