Players were bringing it as it was their last Live Period summer event. These six players caught my attention and had me taking notes on my phone. Tough driver to the rim that did not mind contact on the way. Showed good vision on the drive reading the defense to decide layup or kick out to the shooter. Scrappy guard on defense that will hustle for the loose balls. Nykaiya is going to bring toughness, hustle and 100% percent every game. She scored in a variety of ways. It could be a jumper, backdoor cut, or crashing the board for a offensive putback. Nice back to the basket game using her body to find the defense and patiently make her move. Good touch around the rim that used her athletic ability and length to get around the much taller defender. Mia showed that she can score in many ways this weekend. A shooter from the outside that turned up the aggressiveness when driving downhill getting to the rim. Nice footwork that protected the ball as she worked her way through the defense on her way to the basket. Handles the ball in the open floor transition looking for the coast to coast score. Meaning when you look at stats book Emersyn name will appear in almost every stat line. Watching her play this weekend that statement stood true Tough player that attacked the rim hard collapsing the defense creating opportunities for her teammates. I would list Kate as a Power Forward; A strong forward with great size that did an excellent job running the rim on breaks. Solid footwork in the post area created open passing lanes for her guards. Nice job at sealing off the defense for the over the top pass as well. Nice post defense that held her own against the much taller post. Good help rotation on defense blocking several shots.
