This past month we had a Player Rankings Update for the 2025-2028 Classes throughout Iowa. During these rankings, there were a few prospects that should have been added to our system, but they were not, until now. In this article, we highlight those players and what they can bring to the floor this upcoming Winter season while even looking a few years down the line into the future.

Iowa City - Liberty High School is going to be stacked with talent these next couple of seasons at the Varsity level with who they are going to be retuning. Last season they had a respectable year and they will return most, if not all of their primary producers for the 2024-2025 high school season. One of their underclassman prospects out of the 2027 Class, that could help them down the line from what I've seen is [player_tooltip player_id='957827' first='Ellie' last='Wilson']. Maybe not this season, but if she works on her skill-set, she could see some spot minutes in some capacity sooner rather than later. Wilson is an athletic 5'9 prospect, that is also a very talented player on the Volleyball court, being ranked in the Top 10 of her 2027 Class by PrepDig Iowa. So at the end of the day, it really just depends on what she wants to stick with moving forward. I'm sure by the time she becomes a Senior, she will have some options.

[player_tooltip player_id='957826' first='Mia' last='Greve'] of Interstate 35 High School has been overshadowed the past couple of years but not anymore. Greve has recently picked up an offer to compete at the D3 level following her high school season this upcoming Winter and she has to be stoked about that. She seems to put in a lot of hard work during her off-seasons to be the best version of herself on the hardwood and that is all starting to pay off. I'm hoping she can ride this momentum into her Senior season with I35 but that is still TBD for the next few months.

From looking at the upcoming roster for Des Moines Lincoln High School, it wouldn't surprise me if CG, [player_tooltip player_id='957824' first='Chere' last='Amber'] see's the floor in moderation this upcoming season. Amber is a 5'5 guard with a quick dibble, shifty body movement, and knowledge of when to do what. When she is moving down the floor, she keeps her dribble below her knee's at all times, making it almost impossible for defenders to reach at and helping her control everything. She uses this dribble to do a consistent job of looking for shots for herself from all three offensive levels or she can pass it to an open teammate if the opportunity presents itself. It'll be fun to see who steps up out of the 2028 Class this season throughout Iowa. If Amber gets a chance, I'm sure she will put up some noteworthy numbers.

[player_tooltip player_id='957821' first='Macy' last='Harnden'] isn't in the Dowling Catholic rotation A TON but that hasn't stopped her from working hard and putting together a rememberable AAU season with the [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'], eventually helping her secure a handful of D3 offers up until this point in her journey. Harnden is someone that is going to push the ball down the floor in a hurry, she loves to run in transition, and she isn't going to force up bad shots from behind the three point line while being a better than average shooter. This is a situation where I would expect even more offers to fly in before she makes her final decision as to where she wants to take her talents at the next level. This is a someone that has an efficient play-style and that is something she is going to be able to build on with the correct guidance.

A name that everyone is going to hear a lot about this next four years is [player_tooltip player_id='957815' first='Lydia' last='Hansen'] out of Colfax-Mingo High School. Hansen is a 6'1 Forward with solid coordination coming down the floor, touch, balance, and footwork. She does a great job of moving from side-to-side with her height, sometimes even displaying some guard like tendencies. Offensively, she can score it with her back to the basket with a turnaround, she can go through a defenders chest, or she can move to the outside and hit an open teammate with a nice pass. Defensively, this is someone that opposing teams have to worry about on a scouting report. If not, it'll end with Hansen recording almost double-digits in blocks near the bucket. When you combined both of Hansen's offense and defense, along with her size at 6'1 and young age, you understand the promise she possesses at this point in her career. All in all, she should be a fun watch this upcoming Winter and for years to come with the Tigerhawks.
