In this article, we look at prospects who can impact a basketball game without scoring a single point. They chase down the loose balls, work to get the second chance shots, and dive on the floor to win the possession. These players bring their lunch pale to the game and just go to work. These are players who do the “little” things.

[player_tooltip player_id='900058' first='Emerick' last='Dayton'] is that player who brings a strong work ethic to the court. Daytona runs the floor well and can score the ball with touch or through physical play. Dayton prides herself in protecting the paint, hitting the boards, and mixing it up against the opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='900052' first='Zalani' last='Carter'] - 6'0" is that fearless player who plays hard on the floor at all times. She is athletic who can finish, rebounds with enjoyment, and loves to block shots. Carter is a workhorse player who does the little things in the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='514609' first='Zara' last='Griffith'] is that player who would run through a brick wall to get the job done. I watched her at the FABC showcase diving on a concrete floor. Griffith is the player who brushes it off and then goes out and gets you nearly 15 and 10 on a regular basis. She has the versatile offensive game and can shoot on the outside behind the three point line, get in the paint and score, and can get to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='638578' first='Saige' last='McCloud'] was impressive this past basketball seasons and her spirited play over this past summer showcased her skills. McCloud is that workhorse on the floor who does everything. She fights for offensive and defensive rebounds and she attacks the rim hard. She works hard in the transition game and can fill the lane or initiate the fast break herself. She was impressive at the FABC showcase and college coaches praised her work ethic and versatility as a player.

[player_tooltip player_id='962937' first='Jaynae' last='Gilbert'] was a workhorse player who left a lasting impression after the FABC showcase. She plays on a team with two of the top guards in the State and she does the small things in the court to give her team a punch on the inside and extra possessions for her teammates on the outside. Gilbert is that player who is always around the ball and college coaches were impressed at the workhorse player who showed that she is a total team player who has embraced her role and plays it well.

[player_tooltip player_id='908911' first='Elise' last='Horne'] is a workhorse with a capital “W”. I watched Horne in Lakeland in the State semifinals and in the State finals and she was impressive. Horne brought her lunch pale to Lakeland and left as a three time champion. Horne rebounds the ball well and she can play through contact and get to the free-throw line consistently. Horne definitely does the little things to win. She doesn't seek the limelight, just the W.

[player_tooltip player_id='430248' first='Destiny' last='Donaldson'] is a player whose name is synonymous with workhorse. Donaldson can score the ball and can destroy an opponent on the offend glass alone. She chases down loose balls even if she has to go into the stands to get them. I've seen the forward score 20 points and pull down 20 rebounds before. Donaldson is a workhorse who plays with a passion and does the little things to help her team win.

[player_tooltip player_id='674890' first='Jade' last='Parks'] is another player who is a workhorse on the floor. Park attacks the offensive glass with a vengeance and will give up her body to go for a loose ball. Parks also has the ability to score on the inside. She can run the floor on the break and finish. Defensively, Park can guard multiple players with her physicality and her quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id='924660' first='Joba' last='Oyedji'] cover photo) is a young player who really played well and she is a workhorse who is always around the ball and makes things happen on the glass, on the perimeter, and in the paint. At the FABC, she teamed up with her sister and more than held her own. The young forward has “Star” written all over her and she has the effort gene. That kind of work ethic and talent is going to cause problems for a lot of teams this coming basketball season.
