It’s Elite 80 Time (Part 1)

Athletes came out to William Blount High School on 8/17 ready to compete in front of college coaches, friends, and family! At times there was no answer for Katie! The 6'2 post player knows exactly how to control the paint. She was consistent all day with getting set and finishing strong around the rim. I have stated before that she is a double-double machine and she continues to prove that with her great rebounding and finishing! One thing that I love about Foster's game is the way she gets offensive rebounds. Yes, she goes up strong on the put backs, but if it isn't there, she does not force it and finds an open teammate. Alexa is a basketball savvy kid that continues to prove that she can play. She plays the game the right way and that is one thing that I love seeing from the young athlete! She hit a beautiful outside shot to win the game for her Neon Pink team. I wrote on X, "If a game is on the line, I want Crosby on my team too. She is not afraid of the big moments..." She is not going to back down from a challenge and she is going to put your team in position to win ball games! This athlete impresses me every time that I watch her play. Everyone in the state of Tennessee knows that she is an elite defender! Taylor is continuing to check off all of the other boxes too. Cailyn was getting to the rim with ease. She was setting up her teammates and getting them in the best position to score. She has the ability to control the tempo and get the ball up the court faster than most! The amount of time that she puts into being a better player, shows every time that she steps on the court. She tracks the ball better than most. I love how she never gives up on a play. If she misses a shot, she is getting the rebound. If there is a loose ball, she is getting on the floor. Broome continues to put together the little things that will set her a part. Makayla was a great rim protector today. She continued to make it tough on opponents to score. A solid rebounder that has a good understanding of the game. She was able to show off all of the ways that it takes to becoming a solid 3 level scorer. Brylee was great at attacking the rim and finishing. She knocked down numerous mid-range shots and 3 pointers. Brylee uses her length extremely well at the guard position. She has numerous offensive weapons in her pocket that helps her create offense for herself and others. Give me your best offensive threat, and I trust Jacy to guard that athlete! I watched numerous athletes compete today, and Cox moved her feet better than anyone. She has the footwork, the quickness, and all of the fundamentals down! Jacy is one of the few athletes that could put together an all defensive highlight reel! She is a great on ball defender. She is a great help side defender. She understands how to disrupt cutters and make players work. A high energy athlete that never takes a play off! This is exactly what earned her a player of the game today too! She does the non-stat stuff that we all love to see! She plays solid defense and uses her length extremely well. The softball standout continues to get it done on the basketball court too!
