What made her Cookeville team so tough last season was two things: 1) they played great team defense, and 2) they had 5-6 players that could score double figures any given night.

Hudson is a great example of this….she won't won't drop 25 but she's a high end role player than can easily give you 12 points with 2 made 3's. She also averages 5 rebounds. Really nice role player. And only getting better. As Garcia graduates, and there are more shots to go around, I expect her to pickup some extra scoring load.

[player_tooltip player_id='631118' first='Sophie' last='Ray'] will be be Cascade's best player this season. She had some big time performances flashing her potential. For example, she finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-58 loss to Brentwood. She also had 18 points and four rebounds in Cascade's 57-51 win over Fayetteville soon after. Ray is developing into a high-end old-school post. I expect her to have a huge senior season commanding constant double teams

Caywood had a DOMINANT sophomore year leading Midway back to postseason prominence. Every time I looked at their boxscores, you couldn't help but notice her impact across the stat sheet. She's basically a high level kid in every area. Leading Midway to a 23-6 record, the sophomore will enter her junior year with 828 points. True scorer that has proven it against high level competition in AAU. She's legit.

Darnell was William Blount's best player last season as they attempted to climb back into relevance. Darnell averaged 16 points on 45% from the field, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. She's a really tough two way player that takes pride in two on both ends. Has really developed on the offensive end and is now a legit next-level prospect.

Made a name for herself late in last season as Farragut went on a big run to substate. I wrote about her last June as a high upside kid that had really nice feet, and big motor, and a nice back to the basket game. Her defense improved tremendously throughout the course of this past year (playing for Coach Mayfield will do that for you), and she was an above average rebounder all season.

While her scoring never really had a chance to show (it wasn't her role), I was SUPER impressed with her ability to pass the basketball. One of the secret weapons that is rarely used anymore is a post that can pass. Getting the ball inside the defense, behind the eyes of the opponent, sets up all types of offensive advantages. Curry proved to be a nice passer vs collapsing zones to shooters, hi/low from the short corner, and displayed the ability to hit cutter "on time and on target."
