[player_tooltip player_id='249386' first='Jatia' last='Markes'] is what we like to call in the basketball community a "DOG" on the court—she steps on the floor full of energy. Offensively, she handles the ball well, thrives under pressure, and loves when defenses play physically, using it to her advantage by getting to her spot and scoring. She plays low with the ball, makes smart decisions, and can shoot the three-ball well, whether off the catch or the dribble. She's also a solid guard in pick-and-roll situations, both as a scoring threat and knowing when to pass her teammates open.

On the defensive end, Markes makes her presence known by applying relentless pressure and staying vocal, constantly communicating with her teammates—calling out screens and cutters. A true leader on defense, Jatia plays like every play is her last. Whether her team is winning or losing, her intensity never wavers.

[player_tooltip player_id='427111' first='Addison' last='Ivery'] is a sharpshooter—if you leave her open, she will make you pay, whether it's off the catch or the dribble. When handling the ball, Addison always has her head up, scanning the floor and finding her teammates in transition with ease. She makes smart decisions and reads while running the offense. Addison plays with toughness, rarely rattled by defensive pressure. If she's knocked down, no matter how hard, she gets right back up like nothing happened.

Last season at Venice, Ivery had at least six games where she hit 4 or 5 threes, along with many others where she made at least 3. She averaged 9.0 points per game, 5.3 assists per game, and 3.5 steals per game. Addison is a solid, reliable player to have in tight situations, and her senior year is poised to be her best after a great travel season with [program_tooltip program_id='931970' first='Duval' last='Elite'].

Arielle Marc gives her team whatever is needed when she's on the floor. Whether it's a big-time defensive stop or a clutch shot, she shows up. Marc is a true team player who can do many things well. What stands out the most is her ability to consistently shoot the three-ball. She is always ready to shoot off the catch, with excellent form and confidence that allows her to knock down contested threes.

Marc also knows when to put the ball on the floor and drive to the rim. Because defenders must respect her shot, she spreads the floor and creates one-on-one situations. Coming off a 2A state championship season, expect her to contribute heavily as they aim for back-to-back 2A state titles.

[player_tooltip player_id='346838' first='V'Davrielle' last='“DaeDae” Johnson'] is an exciting player to watch. Johnson is an athletic combo guard—fast and shifty with the ball in her hands. She's a slashing guard who can blow by defenders and get to the rim before the defense is set, forcing teams to react quickly on help-side defense. Johnson will also catch you off guard with her vertical; at 5'7", she can jump out of the gym. Her athleticism allows her to finish high off the glass, creating easy And-1 opportunities.

She's also a major threat in transition, getting up the floor quickly and finishing at the rim before the defense can get set. Defensively, she has a knack for turning offense into defense. If you don't protect the ball, she will take it. Last season, Johnson averaged 11.6 points per game, 2.3 assists per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and an impressive 6.0 steals per game. She recorded two double-doubles last season, both with steals and points.

After a successful travel season with SWFL Impact, playing against competitive competition, Johnson is poised for a big senior year.

Jayla Grimsley is a great example of a "Three and D" player. Jayla can shoot the ball in volumes; with her quick release and perfect follow-through, she spreads the floor, forcing defenders to always know where she is. This opens up more space for her primary ball handlers to attack the rim. But if you help off of her, she'll catch and knock it down. Jayla also has a quick pull-up jumper, most lethal in transition, where she can go full speed, stop on a dime, and hit the shot.

Defensively, she's everywhere, often tasked with guarding the best ball handler on the opposing team. Even if she doesn't get the steal, she will definitely slow down the offense by making ball handlers second-guess their decisions. Whether Jayla starts or comes off the bench as the sixth man, she always makes a major impact on the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='430268' first='Camryn' last='Smith'] is another player who fits the theme of shooters. Camryn has mastered the catch-and-shoot three-pointer. If you swing the ball to her and make the extra pass, you won't regret it—she will knock it down. I watched her during a travel game this season in Atlanta, where she hit six threes off the catch. If you let her spot up with her high release, she'll shoot right over the top of you, and since she's always ready to shoot, if you close out, she'll pump fake, put the ball on the floor for one or two dribbles, and still get the shot off.

Smith will be fun to watch this season at Coral Springs High.

[player_tooltip player_id='331757' first='Briana' last='Gill-Guyette'] can handle the ball with precision. The recent Warner commit plays low, always maintaining a tight handle, and moves north to south with purpose. If you reach for the ball, Briana will make you pay and blow right by you. She attacks the defense, looking to score every time she has the ball in her hands. She plays on balance, with her head up, so if you overcommit, she'll find her cutting teammates with ease.

Briana plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she sits in her stance and dares opponents to try anything fancy, knowing she can steal the ball and quickly push it up the court. Last season at Sumner, Briana averaged 8.7 points per game, 4.1 steals per game, and 3.8 assists per game, showing her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Expect those numbers to rise in her senior season as she continues to play with growing confidence.
