Tuesday morning, we released the updated rankings for the Class of 2027. With 125 players now either ranked in our Top 50 or a part of our 75-person watch list in 2027, I wanted to take the time to highlight a few girls from each position group. Below is a look at the combo guards and the 20 ladies included in this specific group, followed by some analysis on a handful of those prospects.

Not only is Alivia a new addition to the rankings this time around, but she also made it into the Top 50 because of her balance and versatile play from the perimeter. She has good size & strength, nice length, and she's a fairly fluid athlete in most directions. She can handle the ball, run offense, and facilitate, but she is also a creative scorer who can knock down jump-shots consistently from the perimeter. If she can match that same urgency at the defensive end, she could really help Penn this year.

Malika put together a nice rookie season, averaging 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 steals per game in 2023-2024. However, I feel like she is primed for a lot more as a Sophomore. The Pirates starting lineup will be balanced with talent, so she could have big games both scoring and distributing the basketball. Malika is a really nice athlete, she has good all-around skill, and she has the talent to become a lockdown defender. If you don't know her game, I would check it out.

Kaylie is kind of "Miss Old School" in this class, because of her style of play in the backcourt. She is a strong and physical guard who likes to seek physicality. She can handle the ball, she has great vision and can find teammates through the smallest of windows, plus she is a talented perimeter shooter with range and a quick release. But it's her ability to attack and absorb contact that stands out. She also plays with a nice poise and veteran's savvy, as she leads Columbus North this year.

Evansville is sort of transitioning from graduates to younger talent, and Azaria is one of those rising prospects who could make a big impact for North Side this season. She is a really nice North/South athlete, she has speed, length, and a wiry-strong, athletic frame. She can handle it a little and create offense, or she can knock down open rhythm jumpers when set. I also think Azaria could be a really nice defensive player, whether she is on or off the ball. She is a nice all-around backcourt prospect.

Izzy is another young prospect in a great position to step up this season. Franklin graduated a talented and deep 2024 class, but this 2027 group of theirs also possesses some nice pieces. Izzy is a quick, shifty guard who has always been known more as a shooter/scorer. However, she has solid ball skill, good awareness, and as she continues to play on the ball more moving forward, I would expect her to become more of a traditional point guard who can shoot than a shooting guard.
