PGH 250 Expo Top Performers

The 250 expo had a lot of fantastic performers. The talent at the event felt better than it has in a while and there were some great performances. Here are the players that stood out to me the most on Sunday.    [player_tooltip player_id='735525' first='Amaya' last='Ramey'] had a great day and showed why she's one of the best Sophomores in the state. During the 5-on-5s, Amaya showed her complete arsenal. She had a couple of tough drives and showed her physicality and skill. She knocked down a couple of threes as well and looked very dominant. I think Amaya's transfer to PVI will be a terrific move for her and every time I see her she gets better and better. Amaya was my player of the day during the 5s and made it look easy.     [player_tooltip player_id='663345' first='April' last='Winfield'] had a great showing today. She had a lot of terrific moves, and I loved the way she consistently kept her head up to find her teammates. I loved one move in particular: she drove by a defender and cradled the ball over another to finish a layup. April knocked down a few jumpers and looked like she is poised to have a big year as a lead guard.     [player_tooltip player_id='747629' first='Courtney' last='Breland']'s tenacity on both ends was eye-popping yesterday. She picked up players from halfcourt and got into opposing guards' jerseys. She pushed the ball and drew contact with her aggressive driving. Courtney did great work on the boards on both ends, and she finished through contact on multiple occasions.     [player_tooltip player_id='739120' first='Payton' last='Brown'] was steady the whole day. She is an excellent spot-up shooter and showed that. She knocked down a handful of catch-and-shoot threes and showed off her offensive bag. Payton had a few plays where she hit a mid-range or drove to the bucket to get a lay-in. Payton is a high-IQ player and doesn't force shots. This was a good showing for the Brentsville district guard.     [player_tooltip player_id='984968' first='Lexie' last='Hart'] had a terrific day and she raised her stock. She shot the ball pretty well and was a real threat knocking down catch-and-shoot opportunities. Lexie has good range and hit a few shots off the dribble. She is a good driver and she showed multiple dimensions to her game offensively. She passed the ball well especially in transition and is a plus defender.     [player_tooltip player_id='898278' first='Brittany' last='Evans'] showed a lot of her offensive ability yesterday. Brittany was one of the most skilled scorers I saw. She has a great handle and had a few impressive moves. She had a play where she drove in the paint and when the big rotated over she hit a nice one-legged fadeaway. Her crossover is great and it allowed her to create space well. Brittany hit a handful of jumpers from all over the court and had great energy. She rebounded well offensively and looked as good as any guard did.     [player_tooltip player_id='392204' first='Keileen' last='Edwards']'s handle and long-range shooting caught my eye. She had a move early in the 5s that was fantastic and she had a nice crossover. Keileens shot looks good with very little wasted motion and a quick release.
