PGH Oklahoma Expo : Team 3 Evaluations

There was a lot to like from Team 3. The backcourt of Hartsock and Hart (The Hart Foundation?) were relentless in attacking the rim. Slagle and Manning were beasts in the middle. [player_tooltip player_id='751193' first='Kennedy' last='Wray'] has a terrific all-around game. Eaton and Powell showed great glimpses, and it truly does show how the team make-ups are important in these showcases. Those two might have done things at a higher volume on a team where they were the primary ball-handlers, BUT if I am a college coach and see how many other things they do well when they aren't the focal point, I might be even more impressed.    Quick moves with the ball, with a quick one motion shot. Didn't attack much on Saturday, as she played more of a spot-up role with two other guards that liked to drive. In watching some other film I can see that also being a big part of her game as well. Threw really good entry passes to her post players, played good smart basketball.     Plays like she has a turbo button. Impossible to stay in front of her. Communicates great on offense and defense. Has a nice step back three. Three-point shot continuing to improve is going to make her unguardable because you can't play her tight without getting blown by. Sees the floor very well, layup package is top notch. One of the best players I've seen this summer.     I thought Natalie was the best rebounder at camp. (I thought [player_tooltip player_id='999605' first='Maggie' last='Vinson'] was also very good on the glass, especially on offensive end). Tough finisher, has the guard skills to be able to get a defensive rebound and bring it up. Came on strong last year for Metro, scoring at all three-levels.     Talked to Coach Musselman before the games started about her tenacity and I was not disappointed seeing it in action. Plays like she's mad. Good finisher. Gets in the passing lane well. Threads the needle on passes. Will take it coast to coast when she can. Definitely someone you want on your squad when things get tough.     Ava would have been one of the leading scorer's of the day. Stays after her shots and others. Strong inside player with three-point range. Excellent post defender but switches onto guards well. Was able to convert on some and-1's, really tough finisher.     Has a nice floater in the middle of the lane. "Deceptive" would be too strong of a word, but she has point guard quickness in a SF body. Coaches are going to have to change their defensive schemes a lot because of Kennedy. Able to really thrive in the open floor because of her skillset. Has three-point range.     Inside force. Really good shot blocker, good defensive instincts in general. One play that impressed me, she got beat in transition and took a great angle to the goal and was able to block the shot. Gets nice position in the post, does a great job being a big target. Underrated skill of post players, Kaylee gets positioning well and lets you know where she wants the ball. Makes it so much easier for guards. Was able to get inside position and score on putbacks as well.
