Nearly 100 players competed on Sunday at the first Prep Girls Hoops Minnesota Sophomore ID Camp, a showcase for the Class of 2027 at Hopkins High School. Throughout the week, PGH scouts Tony Ragulen, Ally McGinnis and I have brought you team-by-team evaluations of the standout performers on each squad. Here are the top performers on Team 7.

It seems that Rochester Mayo is full of young, talented players right now. Sunday it was McLaughlin's turn in the spotlight. The 5'7 guard was consistent all day long, bringing a high level of competitiveness to every game she played. On the offensive side of the ball, she showed off her court vision, as well as her ability to get down hill and draw fouls at the rim, often finishing and earning herself an and-one opportunity. Madalynn carried over her aggressiveness and high motor to the defensive end, using her quick hands to disrupt the passing lanes and force turnovers. After averaging 7 points per game with the Spartans last season, we look forward to seeing what McLaughlin puts together in her sophomore campaign.

Following the graduation of Florida guard, Liv McGill, the Hopkins Royals have seen a big infusion of young guard talent this offseason. Among the group is Nesbitt, a 5'8 sophomore. On Sunday Nesbitt demonstrated her prowess on the offensive end, scoring the ball in numerous ways. She excels at scoring in transition, as well as breaking players down one-on-one. Combine her handles, ability to read the defense, and multiple finishes around the rim, and Inarah makes for a formidable threat on the drive. In her freshman year at Bloomington Jefferson, Nesbitt averaged a team high 12.1 points per game. This year she looks to bring that scoring to her new home in Hopkins.

The United South Central guard gave one of the best performances we saw all day at the Sophomore ID Camp. There were so many things she did to help her team that it would almost be easier to list what she didn't do. More than anything, Bungum is an impact player through and through. No matter who she's playing for, or what the score is, Olivia finds big and small ways to change the course of the game. We especially liked her ball handling, ability to make dime passes through traffic, and never ending motor. Her defense is played with intensity and she competes with a consistent level of energy and effort, even when she's tired.

The [program_tooltip program_id='718403' first='Minnesota' last='Freeze'] guard had an outstanding day on Sunday when she showed off the major improvements she's made to her game. Not only has Anna gotten bigger and stronger but more skilled, too. She's developed a silky smooth jump shot, ability to attack the basket with great body control, and a keen sense for where to distribute the ball. Smelser's game also features a motor that never stops running, and a great attitude both on and off the court. Anna was a mainstay at Robbinsdale Armstrong in her freshman season, where she averaged 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. This year she is likely to play an even bigger role for the Falcons.

Standing 5-foot-11, the Owatonna sophomore is a big forward with a perfect blend of power, finesse, and skill. As is often the case, we saw her do a ton of things well on Sunday. Jersey was relentless on the glass, using her strength to jockey for positioning down low and elevating over her opponents to grab rebounds. She moved well off the ball, making perfectly timed cuts towards the basket. The Stars Antl forward also showed off her ability to absorb contact on the drive, finish through it, and draw one foul after another. The Huskies are going to have a veteran team this year and Coleman will be a big part of it, despite still being an underclassmen.

PGH scout Ally McGinnis wrote these evaluations.
