As one of the premier collegiate prospects in Southern Minnesota, it’s no surprise to see Coleman excelling in her final AAU season. The Owatonna senior now stands at 6 feet tall with the strength and mobility required to compete at the next level. At the Summer Kickoff Classic, Jersey did all the little things for Minnesota Stars 3SSB. She showed great footwork in the paint, pulling off smooth pull-up jumpers and crafty spin moves on the drive. In addition to the offensive spark she provided on Sunday, Coleman handled the ball with ease out on the perimeter, fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor, and played with a high degree of poise in a tight matchup against Metro Stars 3SSB.

Standing 5-foot-11, the Owatonna sophomore is a big forward with a perfect blend of power, finesse, and skill. As is often the case, we saw her do a ton of things well on Sunday. Jersey was relentless on the glass, using her strength to jockey for positioning down low and elevating over her opponents to grab rebounds. She moved well off the ball, making perfectly timed cuts towards the basket. The Stars Antl forward also showed off her ability to absorb contact on the drive, finish through it, and draw one foul after another. The Huskies are going to have a veteran team this year and Coleman will be a big part of it, despite still being an underclassmen.

Jersey is one of the most intriguing prospects among Minnesota’s best 9th graders. She has an enviable combination of speed, skill and power, a trifecta of talent that has made her the subject of much scrutiny and interest for the past couple of seasons. Coleman is listed a shade under 6 feet but plays bigger. She can use her size and elevation to dominate inside. She can handle the ball and make shots outside. She’s got nice mobility and agility. Jersey is just scratching the surface of what’s possible if she keeps up the grind to get better.
