Whenever we have talked about Mount Vernon High School in the past, we have mentioned the fire power at the top of their roster but with how deep this team is going to be, the fire power really doesn't lighten up the further you get down the list. A perfect example of this is 5'4 guard, [player_tooltip player_id='996522' first='Taylor' last='Franck']. Franck is a facilitating passer with a solid shooting and defending ability. This is a prospect that I would categorize as really fast but she is still always in control in those moments. As you can tell, Mount Vernon is going to be a tough out this Winter on any given night. With the roster they possess, any one of their top 8 could have the night of their high school careers and that's what makes it hard to game-plan against them. In Franck's situation, she is going to get a lot of chances this season when she is on the floor because the opposing team's attention will be on the top prospects for the Mustangs. If she can make the most of those opportunities, she is going to be someone we hear about several more times this upcoming season.

Kymara Atwood was a Freshman last season on the court at CR - Jefferson High School. Atwood came onto the high school scene last Winter and did a solid job of having a respectable year. This season, Atwood will be looked at a little more in her team's offense, as they try to build on what they put in place last Winter. Atwood is listed as a SF at 5'8 but she plays more of a Combo position. She is agile enough to step out to the three point line and take her bigger defender into space or she can post up someone that is smaller than her. Her handle is better than average but still a work in progress, while she has shown some solid vision up the court when in transition. I think there is another level to Atwood's game, she just needs to figure out how to unlock it and this season could be a major key in that process.

[player_tooltip player_id='834562' first='Logan' last='Vogt'] of Waukee NW High School was a standout as a Freshman on the Varsity floor last Winter because of her mixture of height, athletic ability, coordination, and touch out on the hardwood. This Winter, she is going to have to show everyone watching some of the skill-side of the game if she wants to keep on her current pace. Over the past year, it's been easy to tell that Vogt is a collegiate athlete but the question is in what sport. Basketball or Volleyball. From the looks of it from a distance, Vogt is a gamer on the Volleyball court, as much if not more than the Basketball court. Either way, her athletic ability and coordination is going to carry her with positive stats throughout her high school career in both, as long as she stays locked in at the season at hand.

Williamsburg is going to have a shot to take things decently far during the Playoffs over this next 2-3 years with the prospects that they will have on their Varsity roster. One of those prospects being SG - [player_tooltip player_id='502098' first='Kennedy' last='Skaggs']. Skaggs is a lengthy competitor, that can shoot the leather off of the basketball if she gets hot or she can take her defender to the bucket for an easier finish for herself. Defensively, her length helps her stick with smaller, quicker opponents on the perimeter or she has the ability to step into the paint while holding her own as well. In high school ball, she primarily is around the outside as they have a Post presence. All in all, it'll be interesting to see how far they can take things as a group but I can't wait to see it first hand over the next six months.

I have not had a chance to see [player_tooltip player_id='832204' first='Rylee' last='Mudderman'] during the AAU scene as our tournament paths have never crossed but that doesn't change the fact that she put up better than average numbers a year ago for her PG position at Kee High School. Mudderman averaged 17 PPG on 37% shooting, 6 RPG, and 3 APG during her team's 18-6 campaign during the 2023-2024 high school season. That's pretty impressive for a Freshman to say the least. Mudderman is going to be a staple throughout the state of Iowa all the way up until her graduation at this pace. The reality is that she is already a top player in her conference and by the time she is a Senior, I wouldn't be surprised if she was THEE top player. Her fast pace, shifty handle, ability to create, and her motor all scream collegiate level athlete in some form/facet. We may still be a few years away from that but it's definitely something to think about for Mudderman moving forward.
