Last Tuesday, we released the updated rankings for the Class of 2027. With 125 players now either ranked in our Top 50 or a part of our 75-person watch list in 2027, I wanted to take the time to highlight a few girls from each position group. Below is a look at the shooting guards and the 31 ladies included in this specific group, followed by some analysis on a handful of those prospects.

Jimara had a strong Freshman year for CMA and should be even more productive as a Sophomore in 2024-2025. She is a strong wing guard with solid North/South athleticism, she can attack the basket and absorb contact well, plus she is an accurate shooter when she's able to get her feet set and find rhythm. I like how hard she plays, how physical she is on the wing, plus her willingness to defend undersized forwards and get inside to rebound. She could very easily become a mid-to-upper-teens scorer this Winter.

Brooklyn is a nice, long, wiry-strong athlete on the perimeter, and she could find her way into some rotation minutes for a talented Wildcat team. When I first saw her a year ago, she was more of an attacking, slashing style of scorer who could knock down the occasional jumper. Now, she is shooting it more consistently, plus she is starting to handle the ball a lot more. She is transitioning into more of a combo or even point guard role, and as she tightens her handle a little more against pressure, it will really help her play.

Mackenzie has improved a great deal in the last calendar year. She is playing with more strength, confidence, and physicality, and she just looks all-around smoother and more aggressive. She has nice length, a fluid athleticism to her game, and she's becoming a multilevel shooter/scorer. I felt like in March/April playing "up" an age group was maybe a little overwhelming at times, but by May she had adjusted well and was a consistent contributor with her grassroots team. She really stands out to me because of that growth.

Kaylin is an extremely long, fluidly athletic wing prospect. She didn't play much grassroots ball this year, but she popped up in July playing with some high school teammates. Batesville has really nice talent and depth at the moment, but she still managed to carve out a role as a Freshman. She is especially effective right now as a defender, because she uses her length and can move her feet. She also possesses really nice touch around the perimeter when she's able to find rhythm, and she can glide to the basket for scores.

Hayden is one of those kids who you want on your team, but you don't necessarily want to play against. She is tough-nosed, hard-working, and physical. However, she also possesses a balanced skillset, and she is a willing & capable defender. She has a wiry-strong frame, solid all-around athleticism, and she can get to the basket. At the same time, Hayden has some touch outside, or she can even initiate the offense a little. If over the next year she can become a truer point guard, it should certainly help her recruiting.
