There are a lot of talented young women in the state of Florida, but there are certain ones who currently stand at the top of their class. Not only are they some of the best in the state, but they are also among the best in the country. Here are my top 5.

[player_tooltip player_id='468627' first='Jasleen' last='Green'] is many people's pick as the top guard in the 2026 class. Jasleen is a pure BUCKET. When the ball is in her hands, the question is, "HOW DO YOU WANT IT?" because she has the handles to get you off balance and shoot over the top of you. She also has the creativity to turn your hips and hit you with a side step or step back, constantly keeping you off balance. Green is also a maestro at finishing at the rim. She knows how to spin the ball off different angles of the backboard to make tough shots, and she can jump off one foot for a regular layup and switch hands mid-air. Like I said, "HOW DO YOU WANT IT?"

I haven't even mentioned how well she shoots—from three or midrange. Coming off a state championship season as a sophomore, where she averaged 17.2 points per game, and following a freshman year where she averaged 21.2 PPG, with multiple Power 5 Division I offers, I expect her junior season to be her best yet and to really break into the national rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='861097' first='Serenity' last='Hardy'] comes in as one of the top shooters in her class and state. Serenity can shoot from anywhere, and it feels like she's always in range when she catches the ball. She seems to shoot best when contested. Hardy thrives under pressure and makes all the right decisions for her team in tight games. She has definitely earned the title of "clutch." She also has a knack for drawing contact on her three-point shots, often resulting in four-point plays.

Serenity plays with a physicality that allows her to finish at the rim or draw fouls, and she is automatic at the free-throw line, further proving how clutch she is. Defensively, she's no slouch either, with a quick reaction time that allows her to poke the ball loose and go the other way. Last season, Serenity averaged 21.7 PPG while shooting 42%, with a season-high of 30 points in a game and an impressive total of 630 points in the season—something many players don't achieve in their entire high school careers..

[player_tooltip player_id='214183' first='Taniyah' last='Davis'] averaged 15.1 PPG, 3.1 assists per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 3.5 steals per game last season at her high school—essentially, Taniyah is an all-around player. Her versatility helped lead her team to a 5A state championship. The 5'9" point guard has great vision, especially in transition, and her ability to shoot off the dribble in transition makes her a focal point for the defense. She can put points on the board every time she touches the ball, whether it's by scoring herself or through an assist. Even off the ball, Taniyah is still a threat with her elite catch-and-shoot three-point ability, displaying a smooth shooting form.

Taniyah is also one of the best shot-blocking guards, using her long arms and great timing to block shots, disrupt passing lanes, and remain highly active on defense—making her a problem for opposing ball handlers. Taniyah is definitely Division I material, as evidenced by her multiple D1 offers. I foresee that she will truly hit her stride in her junior season and show everyone that she's one of the top players in the state as she competes for back-to-back state championships.

[player_tooltip player_id='216441' first='Jaelyn' last='Housey'] is a force with the ball, making her opponents want to switch immediately as soon as they guard her. She has one of the best first steps I've seen, and once she gets downhill, there's no stopping her. Jaelyn keeps defenders on their heels with her pace dribble, then uses her explosive first step when they least expect it. She has the strength to split defenders when help defense comes and still finish at the rim. This threat also sets defenders up for her quick and smooth euro step. Jaelyn is also capable of knocking down the corner three at a high percentage.

On the defensive end, she's no slouch either—she can guard positions 1-5 and is one of the best rebounding guards, excelling at boxing out, holding her ground, and grabbing rebounds at the highest point. Jaelyn averaged 24 PPG this past season, with a season-high 40-point game, followed by a 38-point performance. She also averaged 7.0 rebounds per game, with a season-high of 17 rebounds in one contest. At 5'10", Jaelyn is already built like a Division I collegiate guard and plays with enough physicality to compete at that level, which is why she has multiple D1 offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='514550' first='Kendall' last='Perry'] is a silent assassin on the floor. She has a calm demeanor under pressure, controls the game, and never lets the defense rush her. Especially when she shoots the ball, you won't rush her shot—she has great balance as a shooter and knows exactly how much space she needs to get it off. As one of the top snipers in the state, you always need to know where she is on the floor. She's a streaky shooter—if she hits two, expect more to come.

Kendall's calm demeanor also makes her a great playmaker. She makes tough passes and always keeps her head up while handling the ball well with both hands. Last season, she averaged 10 PPG on the well-balanced 7A state champions, who secured their third consecutive title with a talented senior class. Look for Kendall to significantly increase that scoring average as she aims to lead her team to a fourth straight state championship.
