Every coach and team in the state has the desire to perform better than they did the previous season in their conference and in the playoffs. Each year there are coaching changes, graduations, transfers, and varsity additions that shift the dynamics of teams in the conference. The Macomb Area Conference consists of a whopping 36 teams divided into six divisions with six teams per division. The Red Division includes Macomb Dakota, Eisenhower, Utica Ford II, Grosse Pointe South, Grosse Pointe North, and Port Huron. The White Division includes Anchor Bay, Cousino, Lakeview, Lanse Creuse North, Romeo, and Utica. The Blue Division includes Clinton Chippewa Valley, Fraser, Marysville, Port Huron Northern, South Lake, and Sterling Heights Stevenson. The Gold Division includes Warren Fitzgerald, St. Clair Shores Lake Shore, Lanse Creuse, Marine City, Roseville, and St. Clair. The Silver Division includes Center Line, Clawson, Lamphere, Sterling Heights, Warren Mott, and Warren Woods Tower. The Bronze Division includes Clintondale, Eastpointe, Hazel Park, Lincoln, Madison, and New Haven. Each Division selects a total of ten All-Conference players and a conference MVP.

Continue reading to learn more about the MAC Blue Division 2023-24 season results and impact players heading into the 2024 season.

2023-24 Season Results

MAC Blue Champion: St. Clair Shores South Lake (9-1), Runner-up: Warren Cousino (7-3)

2024-25 PRE-SEASON POWER RANKING

1. Mykenzi scans the court to find open teammates as she creates separation with her dribble. She uses crossovers to beat defenders downhill and converts tough layups through contact. Mykenzi has a smooth pull-up jumper: she sinks 3s and mid-range shots. Mykenzie creates steals with her quickness and is a passionate competitor.

Read More About Mykenzi

Fraser

2023-24 Overall Record: 18-5, Conference: 8-2

MAC GOLD ALL-CONFERENCE: [player_tooltip player_id='860250' first='Brynn' last='Norbeck'] (2026), [player_tooltip player_id='860207' first='Alaynah' last='Quinn'] (2026), Claire Wise (2024, Lawrence Tech Soccer)

Alaynah is an exciting point guard to watch and she earned All-Conference Honors as a sophomore at Fraser. She creates separation from defenders using a variety of quick-twitch combination dribbles and attacks with a burst downhill. Alaynah sets up her teammates very well by attacking help defenders with her eyes up and dishing accurate passes for assists. Alaynah finishes difficult angled shots around the basket and hits clutch 3s for her team. She will be a top guard in the conference in 2024.

Read More About Alaynah

Marysville

2023-24 Overall Record: 11-12, Conference: 6-4

MAC BLUE ALL-CONFERENCE: Avery Wolters (2024, MVP)

Kendal is a long and versatile wing who will have an excellent opportunity to step into a key role in 2024 with many seniors graduating. She earned All-Conference Honors as a junior and looks ready to lead the Huskies to a resurgent season as a senior. Charlotte had an excellent day at MSU Team Camp during the summer, drilling 3s, beating pressure with purposeful dribbles, and deflecting passes on defense. She pats the stat sheet with several 3s on any night and keeps her hands active to create steals on defense. Charlotte will be a key contributor for PHN this winter.

St. Clair Shores South Lake

2023-24 Overall Record: 15-8, Conference: 9-1

MAC BLUE ALL-CONFERENCE: [player_tooltip player_id='419528' first='Dania' last='McClain'] (2025, Robert Morris), [player_tooltip player_id='423698' first='Christina' last='Gibson'] (2025)

Christina has athleticism, quickness, and offensive firepower that makes her an exciting point guard prospect to watch at South Lake. She earned All-Conference Honors as a junior and has continued to shine at competitive events leading up to her senior season. Christina creates separation with her shifty ball-handling to dish one-handed passes on a rope, bury 3-point shots, and accelerate by defenders to score layups. Christina will be an exciting prospect and one of the best point guards in the Blue this winter.

Read More About Christina

Sterling Heights Stevenson

2023-24 Overall Record: 5-16, Conference: 1-9

MAC BLUE ALL-CONFERENCE: [player_tooltip player_id='854691' first='Hannah' last='Tamou'] (2025)

Hannah earned All-Conference Honors as a junior and her stock has soared during the off-season. She excelled at travel tournaments and showcases to catch the eye of college programs, possessing the attributes of a next-level guard. Hannah has length and strength that give her an advantage to pass, shoot, and score over defenders. She finishes with strength around the basket, muscles her way into position for rebounds, works hard to create steals on defense, and provides perimeter scoring from 3-point distance. I expect Hannah to lead Stevenson to a more competitive divisional record and be an exciting addition to whichever college program she chooses following graduation.

Read More About Hannah

At the Buzzer

Evan Bell is currently a scout for Prep Girls Hoops and Director of [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] .
