In the modern game the old-school post player is a bit of a lost art. While positionless basketball is all the rage, there is something to be said about a forward or center who can get things done on both sides of the ball. Here are a handful of players who foot that bill - with rebounds, blocks, and scoring. Need a double-double? These post players will get it done.

I would be doing this article a disservice if I didn't mention [player_tooltip player_id='582809' first='Emma' last='Boswell']. Last season for Orient-Macksburg the sophomore small forward absolutely dominated the stat sheet - with 19.5 points, 19.8 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game. She also averaged the most defensive rebounds and second-most offensive rebounds in the state. With the graduation of the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer in Kinsey Eslinger, I can only imagine the numbers Emma is going to put up this season.

If you're looking for a classic center who will produce day in and day out, you're looking for [player_tooltip player_id='582828' first='Dasia' last='Foster']. The Kirkwood Eagles are getting an instant double-double out of the 6'3" center next season, as Foster averaged 18.2 points and 13.8 rebounds per game during her junior year at Oskaloosa. She's got a soft touch and solid footwork around the rim, and can finish through the double team. On top of her rebounding skill, Foster will continue to be a matchup nightmare as a senior.

Out of all the sophomores in the state, multi-sport star [player_tooltip player_id='582808' first='Bailey' last='Boeve'] had the most offensive rebounds in Iowa last season with 5.1. On top of that the Creighton Volleyball commit averaged 15.7 points, 10 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.5 steals per game. I think her numbers will only grow this season after the loss of graduating seniors Kadence Peters and Ashlyn Kovarna. Looking for a player who just does it all? Think [player_tooltip player_id='582808' first='Bailey' last='Boeve'].

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='592193' first='Sadie' last='Cox'] is a player to watch this season in the Pride of Iowa conference. Don't let her height fool you, because the 5'11" small forward averaged 17.9 points and 14.1 rebounds last year (including fifth in the state in defensive rebounds at 9.4 per game). Her smooth turnaround jumper, long reach and ability to push the ball in transition will set her up for another big year for the Lenox Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id='582829' first='Adriana' last='Howard'] is the heart and soul of her Centerville squad, and for good reason. As a junior last season she averaged 15 points and 13.6 rebounds, and I predict she'll be putting up these same impressive stats as a senior. Despite facing double teams up and down the court, Adriana has been able to use her long reach to shoot over defenders. When she's not double teamed, she's more than capable of taking her defender one on one off the dribble from the high post.

It's no wonder that [player_tooltip player_id='592192' first='Grace' last='Hannam'] is a high-level volleyball recruit, because she can flat out jump. Averaging the third-most offensive rebounds in the state last season (6.9), Grace's 11.1 total boards per game helped Cedar Falls earn their best record since 2016-17. If the Tigers are looking to make another run at the state title this year, I think [player_tooltip player_id='592192' first='Grace' last='Hannam'] will be helping lead the charge on the glass.
