The first week of the 24-25 season is in the books, and plenty has happened around the state, from intriguing matchups to individual excellence.

[player_tooltip player_id='533077' first='Adaline' last='Sheplee']

I've been waiting for Sheplee's junior year since halfway through her freshman campaign. She'd been a kid who was ok differing but showed flashes of brilliance. After an excellent run in EYBL last summer, Sheplee has been hyper-aggressive on the offensive end, and Rice Lake will need that version of her every night this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='874372' first='Nyajuacni' last='Riak']

People who knew who Riak was before last week weren't surprised at what she did in her first week. Scoring 46 points in her high school debut is par of the course for Riak, and if she stays healthy, Riak could rewrite the record books in her four years at La Follette.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039219' first='Adahlyn' last='Hoerl']

The Chilton all-time leading scorer is continuing to score the ball for Chilton. Hoerl has done an excellent job handling the volume of shots she takes for her team and has stayed efficient for years as a primary scoring option in a talented Eastern Wisconsin conference. The unsigned 2025 has the tools to help a program at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='751287' first='Tessa' last='Bryan']

Bryan closed the year on a tear last season, and in the first game of her sophomore season, she continued to dominate. Bryan handed wissports.com's No. 2 team in D2, 27pts, 6rebs, 5stls, and 4asts and looked like the most dominant kid on the floor. Bryan can push the pace and be disruptive on the defensive end, and now that Waunakee is leaning into that more this season, we'll see a better version of the Warriors.

[player_tooltip player_id='880796' first='Kinsley' last='Ketterhagen']

The top grouping of kids in the 2028 class has been outstanding, and Ketterhagen is no exception. In a game against a Laconia team that's been an excellent defensive unit for three years, the Spartans didn't have much of an answer for her. She made shots from all over the floor and looked like a kid with a chance to have an extraordinary four years at Oostburg.

[player_tooltip player_id='417945' first='Laila' last='Collier-White']

Collier-White doesn't have much size, but she might be the most physical kid in that class. She's a unique athlete in her class and one of the more intriguing guards to me in that 2026 class. Collier-White is an excellent athlete, physical, and can blow by or power through defenders and competes on the defensive end. She's gotten to the free-throw line 22 times in two games and has scored efficiently around the rim in the first week of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='767273' first='Eva' last='Brooks']

A Winonoa State commit, Brooks has continued to thrive for the Lena Wildcats. A 27-point, 14-rebound outburst against a solid Marinette team in D2 should signal their intentions to the rest of D5 that they're looking to right the wrongs that happened at the Resch Center last March.
