I've attended roughly 25 games this season in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Today, I'd like to highlight a few kids who've stood out in individual games I've attended thus far.

Greta Belany

Before seeing Muskego's 1-3-1 trap, Hudson moved the ball well in the two games I saw them play. I thought Belaney excelled in that system the Raiders utilize. She paid off possessions with more than six passes on multiple occasions with corner threes. She's also a kid who doesn't need to dribble more than once before deciding what to do with the ball, which maximizes offensive possessions.

Lindsay Weiler

The SPASH post excelled in the Panthers' season opener against Eau Claire Memorial. Weiler linked up with [player_tooltip player_id='764935' first='Jada' last='Seubert'] in the Panthers' pick-and-roll game and dominated the second half when multiple defenders forced Seubert to get the ball out of her hands. Weiler made herself available on the roll to earn easy baskets. She's also a physical kid around the basket, played through contact, and earned a few and-ones in that game. I have no idea if she wants to play at the next level, but if she does, WIAC schools should take a look at her.

[player_tooltip player_id='1173395' first='Norah' last='Kling']

A newcomer I didn't know heading into the season, but Kling impressed in Memorial's game against SPASH. The 2028 wing has areas to refine offensively, but her motor and defensive upside slap you in the face when you watch her play. She can force mistakes if she puts token pressure on guards, bringing the ball up the floor and at the varsity level as a newcomer. Her athleticism is ready for high-level BRC games, and Kling will be a disruptive presence against some of the top teams in the conference this season. She has scholarship potential, but we'll see if basketball is the sport she pursues at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='533062' first='Tay' last='Maass']

Last night, I watched [player_tooltip player_id='533062' first='Tay' last='Maass'] play the best game I've seen her play, and she was the most talented post on the floor. She set strong screens, set a physical tone around the rim, and finished well in traffic. I also loved that not getting whistles she probably deserved for kids hanging on her arms around the rim never changed her mentality or got her off her game. Her mindset is where it needs to be for her to maximize her talents, and I can't say that about everyone I've seen this season.
