2028 Rankings First Look – Key Role Players

She comes in and makes smart plays, never trying to do too much. She is quick and athletic and does a nice job of playing her role to perfection. She will become more of an offensive threat when she gets to her Junior and Senior seasons, due to older teammates currently dominating the offensive side of the floor. She is one of the best on-ball defenders in the 2028 class and one of the best I have seen in the entire state this season. Her lateral quickness is really impressive. This allows her to hound the ball handler and she is able to easily turn her opponent two to three times a possession. She is always in stance, whether she's on the ball or in help-side. When a shot goes up, she is always there to box out her girl. She is a great size for a point guard, standing at a solid 5'8. She has a good, strong base and is a very good athlete. I like how she is able to defend and contribute to what her team needs, often times giving teammate [player_tooltip player_id='464291' first='Whitney' last='Welk'] a rest at the point guard position. She is a big body who has agile feet and good footwork around the rim. I like how soft her touch is on her shots near the basket and she gets a nice arc on her jump shots as well. Claire is a very coachable player and someone who has a strong desire to be great. I know Claire is going to keep working hard and continue to improve as she grows older. She has a great feel for the game and plays with great pace. I like her quickness and her passing ability and her soft touch around the rim on drives. She is a key player for a Shiloh Christian team that battles every night, with most of their losses coming to top teams in the state. She is a steady ball handler and makes solid decisions with the ball. She is an athletic defender and is able to guard opposing team's guards effectively. She has a nice looking shooting form and can knock down outside shots when she sets her feet. She comes off of the bench and can have an immediate impact on the game due to her excellent shooting ability. She currently is shooting 44% overall and 42% from behind the arc, both outstanding numbers for a freshman. She plays hard and is a solid defender, everything a coach asks for in a key reserve. She is doing a nice job stepping up and helping fill the void of star [player_tooltip player_id='342164' first='Maggie' last='Fricke'].
