Many things….But these certainly help…A good scorer in basketball possesses a combination of skills, mindset, and physical abilities that allow them to consistently put points on the board. Some qualities of a “walking bucket” include: competitiveness, shooting ability, extended range, versatility, a short memory, speed/quickness/bounce, producing at the rim, having a dynamic finishing package, hitting shots off the catch & bounce, 3-level scoring, a smooth middy game, floater/runners, a step-back game, strong post moves, great feet, relentlessness, tight handles & ball skills, high hoops IQ, mental toughness, reading/using screens, stamina, perfect timing, 2nd chance points/O-boards, consistency, exploiting mismatches, work ethic, getting to the FT-line/drawing fouls, points off TO's, buckets in transition, hustle, creativity, being a gamer, finishing with both hands, craftiness, clutch shots, and many more…

Bell is the best player in ND and her Minot squad is ranked #1 in AA with a perfect 7-0 record. She has eye-popping stats with 25.7 ppg, 11 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.9 spg, 44.8 FG%, 32.6 3FG%, 15 3FGM, 50 eFG%, 85.4 FT%. You name and Bell can do it on the basketball court. She makes the game look easy and is an impossible matchup with her size, skill, smarts, and 3-level scoring.

Lamoureux is the second-leading scorer for the Majettes who are 7-0 and ranked #1 in AA. Karew is a well-rounded offensive player who scores from all levels and makes impressive plays in transition. If the D leaves her to double Bell, she will make them pay, she will also bust the zone if they leave her open. Lamoureux is averaging 10.3 ppg, 1.6 rpg, .6 apg, 1.3 spg, 42.4 FG%, 39.3 3FG%, 11 3FGM, 50.8 eFG%, 71.4 FT%. This is an offensive article, but Lamoureux is also a tough player on the defensive end.

Johnson is a leader and workhorse for the Braves who are 7-0 and ranked #2 in AA. A difficult matchup with her length, size, athleticism, footwork, and expansive finishing package.

Seavert is averaging a splashy 19 points per game. Rylee scores her points In the paint, in fast-paced transition situations, and with three-pointers. Seavert's offensive game has many dimensions, she can handle the basketball, drive to the hoop, pull up for a jumper, and hit the 3. She also dominates the offensive boards and scores with putbacks.

Dietz is putting up a respectable 13 ppg. Much like Seavert, Megan gets buckets in the lane, in transition, and from beyond the 3-point arc. Dietz's offensive game has many dimensions, she can handle the basketball, post up on the block, hit pull-ups, step back jumpers, and drain the trey. Right now I would say the best part of Megan's offensive game is her passing, she is averaging 4 assists a game as a post player and her 3-point shot has been deadly this year.

The Burro from HCV is averaging 11.4 ppg. She's the go-to girl inside. She can score out of the post or by grabbing offensive rebounds for putbacks. Olson is all effort. She constantly comes at you. If you don't box her out she gets the offensive rebound and will score. This year has not started out as consistent as she would like, but it's going to get better and her numbers are going to go up. Paityn scored 27 vs. Larimore Tuesday night! Those are the kind of games we expect from her. Olson is deadly because she shoots a baby hook that's almost impossible to block. She never slows down and attacks all the time. The only thing that can slow her down is foul trouble.

The Cossacks are off to a hot start this season, they are currently 5-1 and Vincent is a big reason for that. She averages 14.5 ppg. Talya is an outstanding three-point shooter and a game-changer from deep. She sets her feet quickly and has a smooth/fluid release. You have to guard Vincent from 23-feet on in, or you will pay the price.

Cradduck averages 12 points per game. Kailey is a key player for the 5-1 SV Cossacks. She scores well inside the arc in a variety of ways. Kailey can space it and drill the 3-point point shot from long range. Cradduck is also a talented playmaking slasher who finishes well at the cup. She is a versatile baller!

She is a game-changer in the paint and around the basket. Kruse scores 13.5 points per game and has helped propel the Cossacks to a 5-1 record. Keyra is a back-to-the-basket scorer with quality moves. She is a great finisher at the rim and also shoots 80% from the free-throw line. Kruse is a productive offensive rebounder who scores a couple of putbacks each game. She is the real deal as a frontcourt player.
