Class of 2026: Next Ten

A new week means a new week of rankings updates, and the 2026 class is up next. As always, we'll highlight our top ten and follow that up with our next ten.    The La Crosse Central wing has been among the highest-usage kids in the state for a few years. Her ability to create off the dribble and shoot it anywhere on the floor gives her a chance to score whenever she touches the ball. Simpson is an excellent athlete who's improved in the mental side of the game and has improved her shot quality, selection, and vision to get her teammates open looks. I'm a massive fan of what she brings to the floor.        Few kids have the athleticism and motor Davis does. The Aquinas wing can guard one through four and has the athleticism to allow her to rebound the ball well at the D1 level. Davis has slowly improved her perimeter game and gotten better at being a threat on the perimeter. She was the leader of her [program_tooltip program_id='715882' first='Wisconsin' last='Flight Elite'] team last summer, and her teammates followed her lead even when things looked bleak, which speaks a lot about her character.      The Beaver Dam guard has been the most offensively sound kid the Golden Beavers have had since she got to campus but hadn't utilized that until this season. She's been an efficient 20-point scorer for the Golden Beavers. Donaldson also averages over seven rebounds per game, the most in her high school career.      Few kids have as much versatility as McLain, and people may not know that because she plays at a small private school in Southeast Wisconsin and plays her AAU ball in Illinois. She's a physical kid who has enough quickness to get by kids off the dribble and finish through contact, and she can knock down mid-range and perimeter jumpers regularly. She's a scholarship-level prospect.      After Allie Ziebell left, there was plenty of uncertainty about what life without the former Ms. Basketball would look like. Klesmit put that to bed quickly. There is a case that Klesmit has been the best player in the FVA, which I don't think anyone would've predicted. She's scoring 25 points per game on 50/40/90 splits and a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. She's been the breakout star of the season.      An ACL injury cut Waldrop's season short in December, but nobody is as physical as the Notre Dame post. She's a powerful athlete who constantly moves around the basket and finds opportunities for herself through her effort rebounding the ball, cutting to the basket, or her dives to the basket off ball screens. She'll continue her career at the next level at the NCAA D2 level with Grand Valley State in the GLIAC.      Few kids have the first step that Love possesses. Her ability to get by her initial defender whenever she wants opens up countless doors for her teammates and her coaches to work with. Love has been an excellent offensive source for Dominican this season and will be someone who can turn losses into wins for the Knights. Love is a scholarship-level talent, without a doubt.      The best D5 talent in the 2026 class attends Barneveld High School. [player_tooltip player_id='533073' first='Izabel' last='Durst'] is a quick kid who can create her shot off the dribble, and her quickness makes it a challenge to stay in front of her. Durst doesn't need much room to get her shot off. Durst is among the most talented lead guards in her class.      After an injury kept Riley out for the first month of the season, she's back and rolling. Ketterhagen has been shooting the ball at a high clip since returning to the floor, and her momentum plays will determine how far this Oostburg team can go. Few kids can take charges like Ketterhagen, and she'll make timely shots. Riley and her twin sister Ady will continue their careers at UW-Green Bay.      An ACL injury in July took the reigning state champions' junior season from her, but some of the things Gilmore brings aren't quantifiable. Her defensive effort was second to none, and Gilmore always drew the other team's best offensive player and did an excellent job minimalizing those kids' impact on a game. Gilmore took a significant step forward on the offensive end in her sophomore season and became an intriguing two-way prospect.
