There are many players from the 2028 class getting it done this season. Some are well-known names, but there are many that are showing off their skills in their introduction year to high school. It is great to watch many of them get playing time for both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams as they continue to increase the extremely high IQ and basketball fundamentals that are possessed by many of these younger players. These players are quietly earning their clout by putting in the work in the moments on the court and learning from their upperclassmen. Look for these freshman to be standout players in the very near future.

Hanlon truly loves the game of basketball. This is clear in her fundamentals and her game IQ. She is smooth with the dribble, with the ability to handle the ball in open court as well as confidently in traffic. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='899784' first='Olivia' last=''] to revive the bank shot, her shooters touch is effortless. She can score easily with layups, mid-range jumpers and behind the arch. She understands both offensive and defensive strategies allowing her to play at multiple levels. Hanlon is leading the JV team at Denver East High School nightly, finding her voice on the court as she continues to mature. She is also earning decent minutes with the Varsity squad, making her a reliable guard for the Angles future.

Some freshman are only freshman in year, Martinez is one of those players. It's obvious from her play that she has had a ball in her hands for a long time. She is comfortable in the point guard role, with the handles to lead her team in pressure situations and in half court sets. A bit undersized, Jayla is not afraid to take the ball to the basket in traffic, but is also confident with her mid-range jumper and from behind the 3pt line. Defensively is another area this freshman plays above her age, she can be counted to get stops in traps and in the half court. Martinez is in the perfect position to lead Westminster High School into the future.

Hannah is so much fun to watch on the court. Her high energy play gets her involved in every play on both the offensive and defensive end. Watson is reliable at all 5 positions on the court. She has both the capable handles of a guard and the strength of a post player in the paint. She is deceivingly quick on offense, with the ability to score off the dribble or hit open mid-range jumpers. Hannah is also a threat from behind the arch as she continues to hone in her range. On the defensive end, Watson can be put at the top of a press to get traps and steals. She is also very capable of guarding in the post and securing much needed rebounds. Hannah is easily a leader on and off the court for the JV team at East, and the quality minutes she earns with varsity with keep her a difference maker throughout her career.

Duncan is a great up and coming post player that truly embraces post play. She is strong with her post up position, giving guards an excellent target in the paint. Her footwork is one of a seasoned player and will only continue to get better at Rangeview High School. She finishes well in the paint and is equally confident from mid-range. Duncan has wonderful vision as a post player, finding the right passes from the paint or when helping to break presses. On defense, this freshman gives up nothing. She uses her height perfectly when helping against drives in the paint and is always matched up against the best post players on the opposing teams. Nylah is very mobile on defense, helping on screens and pulling rebounds for her team nightly. Look for Duncan to continue to make a mark for herself in her future years.

This multi-positioned player is a reliable freshman for George Washington High School. Cain uses her length well on both offense and defense, with the ability to play guard, wing and in the paint on both sides of the floor. Michele sees the floor well with the ball in her hands, and her height gives her an advantage over shorter defenders. A pure shooter, she has range from the block all the way to the top of the key. Quick hands makes this player a defensive threat against guards, she can defend both dribblers and shooters. Quick feet keeps her aggressive against bigger post players in the paint. Michele and George Washington will be a growing force for the Denver league.
