Here are five prospects that have been standing on business this Winter, showing up and showing out, each and every night. Each one of these players below has a better than average skill-set with college aspirations. If they lock in mentally and compete with their heart, it should take them a long ways on the hardwood.

We highlighted [player_tooltip player_id='524262' first='Sydney' last='Doeschot'] for her transfer at the beginning of the season and how she might be extremely impactful within her new team's offense. Well so far, Doeschot has been eating up her competition in every aspect of the phrase. It seems like every time I check the stat book after a game night, she has almost 20-30 points with a ton of steals and assists. At the end of the day, the competition level that Doeschot is playing currently is a little weaker than she is used to during AAU season and that's been obvious. Hinton has posted a solid record up to this point in the Winter. Next year when they get back Creighton Volleyball commit, [player_tooltip player_id='582808' first='Bailey' last='Boeve'] from injury, everyone else better watch out because those two will be a dynamic duo to watch.

There is a lot to like about [player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] and what she can bring to the hardwood every time she laces up her kicks. Frazell is a 5'11 Forward, that falls into the category of a SF or a CG to most that are evaluating her. With her skill-set you would assume that she is more of a Forward but she moves so well, that she can play from the outside in, completely changing the dynamic of a ball game. After putting together a successful freshman campaign, it can be tough to follow that up but not in this case. In this case, Frazell is a top PPG leader for her 2027 Class at this point in the Winter and she also is impacting the rebounding and blocking aspect of things on a consistent basis as well. I'm not sure where Frazell has spoken to as it pertains to the recruitment side of things but I wouldn't be surprised if she has a bunch of suitors moving into the AAU season. Her skill-set and size alone will open doors for her. There is no doubt about it.

[player_tooltip player_id='1154191' first='Brynn' last='Clarahan'] of Sigourney High School is a 2028 to know out of Iowa moving forward. Clarahan competes at the guard position and she is the top of her team's press/zone, depending on what they are in. Coming out as a freshman can sometimes be intimidating but Clarahan has made this varsity program her own in a lot of ways already. She is putting up impactful numbers in the PPG, RPG, APG, and SPG sections of the game - standing out each night she competes for the most part. Sigourney has shown that they have some pieces who can hoop at a steady rate. If they continue to approach each game with a great scouting report and some desperation, they are going to be someone to watch out for come Playoff time. As for Clarahan, she has a bright future and I'm excited to see where she can take that moving into the month of February.

Roland-Story comes into the end of January with an 11-2 overall record and they are looking to continue with that success moving forward. Someone for The Norseman that has stepped up for her sophomore season has been PG - [player_tooltip player_id='923942' first='Riley' last='Johnson']. Johnson is the team leader in APG while having a +1.6 assists-to-turnover ratio so far. She is also putting up 10.2 PPG and 4.5 RPG in the same efforts. What I like about Johnson the best is that she is a true guard with adaptability and a smart head on her shoulders. She understands what she does best and what her teammates around her do best, usually always making the right decision with the basketball. This season has been a coming out party for Johnson in a lot of ways and it's really only just the beginning.

One of the taller prospects that the state of Iowa has to offer is 6'1 PF, [player_tooltip player_id='1154318' first='Carsen' last='Wellhausen'] of Clarinda High School. Wellhausen stands out because of her natural length and her ability to impact her opponents attempts near the basket in the paint area. Out of the junior class, there are only two players with over 55 blocks on the season so far and that is Wellhausen, along with future D1 commit - [player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'] of Dowling Catholic. The next highest to those two sits in the 30's, just to give you an idea. This number for this stat really stands out to anyone that might come across it. It shows that it's a tough time to score in the lane at any given moment against Clarinda because of the presence of Wellhausen. I'm curious how this team ends this season but no matter how that is, I'm sure that Wellhausen will be protecting the rim until the final buzzer.
