Winter Update: 2026 Shooting Guards

As it pertains to the Class of 2026, we have expanded the overall rankings and watch list from 185 total prospects to 200 total prospects, so there will likely be a handful of new names on each position list. Below is a look at the Shooting Guards in 2026, with some analysis on a few who have stood out for one reason or another since our last update.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/position-ranking-table {"name":"acf/position-ranking-table","data":{"class":"2026","_class":"field_65cfb7374abb9","position":"12125","_position":"field_65cfbfcb19ad6","national_rankings":"0","_national_rankings":"field_660c1d73c0e49","state":"1286","_state":"field_65cfb88a603fe"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6780a1aabe61f"} /--> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><font color="FFFFFF">.</font></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='430958' first='Izabell' last='Grantz'], 2026, 5-7 SG, Castle H.S.</strong><br>- I mentioned Izabell following her play at a holiday tournament a couple of weeks ago. She is a strong, physical wing guard who plays a cerebral game. She is a skilled shooter, she can handle it a little, and she doesn't usually turn it over by playing outside of her abilities. She could be a little quicker on the ball, but she does understand angles, and she rebounds.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='486533' first='Elle' last='McCulloch'], 2026, 5-11 SG/SF, Brownsburg H.S.</strong><br>- Elle is a long, wiry, fluidly athletic wing prospect who has gotten better each time I've seen her over the past two years. She has become a knockdown shooter with some range, but she can also attack off the dribble some, and she is a solid passer. Defensively, she could still get laterally quicker on the ball, but she uses her length well to defend multiple positions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='624883' first='Jordan' last='Steele'], 2026, 5-8 SG, Highland H.S.</strong><br>- Jordan is a very good lefty shooter who has done a nice job over the years of being more aggressive to the basket. She has really nice length, a wiry frame, and she possesses speed and bounce as well. She has also improved as a defensive player. She is solid on the ball, but she's very good at affecting passing lanes with her length, and she deflects a lot of passes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='486514' first='Anisa' last='Tonkel'], 2026, 5-8 SG, Columbia City H.S.</strong><br>- Anisa is a very nice complement to Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='295754' first='Addison' last='Baxter']</strong>. She is a capable shooter/scorer, she is a fairly strong athlete, and she plays with an outstanding motor. Anisa typically outworks her matchups, and she will often get easy layups by simply getting out and running in transition. I also like her willingness and ability to rebound/defend as a bigger guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='403531' first='Brooke' last='Zartman'], 2026, 5-8 SG, Warsaw Community H.S., <em>committed to Miami University</em></strong><br>- Brooke has been outstanding this Winter, already knocking down 73 3-pointers in 15 games, and at 49%. She has made 5 or more in 8 games this year, too. I think what gets lost in her shooting is how athletic she is. She has nice length, wiry strength, and she can run &amp; jump as well. She is also a very talented on-ball defender, and I also think that gets overlooked.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
