Katey made a giant impact for Escanaba during a 48-41 victory against Marquette last week, starting from the opening tip when she scored a left-handed layup off two feet. Katey attacked defenders off the dribble to earn free throws, grabbed many rebounds, finished layups off drives, and scored using a back-cut. Katey anticipated passes to create steals on defense and made a sweet no-look assist to a teammate in transition. She poured in 11 points for the Eskymos and is averaging 4.1 assists per game.

Emerson made the play of the game against Marquette when she pushed the ball full court as the closing seconds counted down in the third quarter. She split two defenders with a crossover dribble and swished a straightaway 3-point runner off one foot at the buzzer. Emerson drained another 3 from the corner, scored a right-handed layup in transition, and converted two confident free throws from the charity stripe. Emerson's competitive no-quit effort stood out on tape. She chased down a breakaway to swat the ball out of bounds from behind and sprinted back in transition to force a missed layup without fouling. Emerson pursued 7 rebounds and made unselfish passes to teammates for assists.

Grayson was a formidable force in the paint for Escanaba and her performance helped lead the team to a 48-41 win against Marquette. Grayson snagged several rebounds, knocked down free throws, and blocked shots. She scored layups with both hands and pinned her defender to score a drop-step floater with a soft touch. Grayson contributed 13 points and is averaging an impressive 15.6 points, 9 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game this season.

Lexi was flying around the court for Marquette and she made plays to help the team compete throughout the game. Lexi created separation from defenders using crossovers and jab steps to drive and shoot pull-up jumpers. She accelerated to score a scoop layup in a crowd, moved her defender with a jab to hit a smooth mid-range jumper off the dribble, and added a clean crossover step-back straightaway 3. Lexi outworked others to secure multiple rebounds and created steals on defense. She pushed the ball full court to score a nifty fake-pass left-handed layup late and led the squad with 11 points. Lexi is a shifty guard to keep an eye on.

Sometimes shots aren't falling. Despite that challenge, Bri continued to find ways to help Marquette compete against Escanaba last week. Bri was assertive on the defensive end, using her length to block multiple shots and deflect entry passes. She battled to secure nine rebounds, disrupted passing lanes to create several steals, and dished four assists to teammates. Bri pushed the ball with both hands in transition and used crossover dribbles to gain the edge for drives to the basket. When the defense collapsed, Bri was able to deliver accurate passes to open teammates.

Aubree gave Marquette a boost on the offensive end, scoring 10 points against Escanaba last week. Aubree maintained her balance around the basket and beat her defender with a crossover dribble to cause a foul. She crashed the boards hard to score offensive rebound putbacks, layups off two feet, and knocked down two free throws from the charity stripe.

Claire looked like a valuable forward for any team, a glue type of player. She dove out of bounds to save a loose ball, used her length to block shots on defense, and created space to pass the ball to an open shooter using effective pivots. Claire grabbed offensive rebounds and sealed her defender to catch entry passes. She stole the ball away to score a layup, caused a foul with her step-through, hit a free throw, and converted another shot around the basket.
