The winter update of our Prep Girls Hoops Minnesota Class of 2027 prospect rankings is complete. On Wednesday we delivered our first installment of high-end sophomores who have raised their stock – 2027 rankings update: Stock Risers in the Top 20 – and today we offer you a look at the biggest stock risers overall. Some are familiar names you know; others are just making their way into the consciousness of college coaches and scouts. Here are profiles of the six biggest stock risers and a half-dozen more of note.

+14 – Gigi had a great summer in 2024 with [program_tooltip program_id='712665' first='Metro' last='Stars']. At the PGH Sophomore ID Camp in the fall she made a statement. Then at the MLK Day tournament at St. Kate's the crafty guard put on a defensive display that made everyone in the gym sit up and take notice. Coleman clearly relished the opportunity to guard [player_tooltip player_id='252383' first='Lanelle' last='Wright'] of Minnetonka, one of the best pure point guards in the state, and she turned in a stellar performance. We know Coleman can get downhill, knock down shots from distance, and score buckets, but it is her defense that earned Gigi a rise of 14 positions.

+11 – St. Agnes isn't a high-profile program, and its' athletes don't get much time in the limelight. Take a closer look, however, and you'll find players with talent and potential – none more so than McCoy. The big wing/forward has length and strength, size and athleticism. She is a strong rebounder, a defensive-difference maker who uses her natural assets to stifle opponents and create opportunities for her team. Ma'lon leads the Aggies in scoring (16.2 ppg), assists and blocked shots, and is second in rebounding at 8.1 per game. When the opportunity was there to go head-to-head with more highly touted prospects this winter, McCoy excelled. That's why she has earned a jump to #69.

+10 – If you look back at the last couple of 2027 rankings updates, you'll find that Ava made the list of biggest stock risers every time. One year ago, Litecky earned a spot in the rankings at #64. By summer she was up to #54. Last fall she took another big leap up to #38. And now, after several more months of growth in skills and experience, Ava continues to soar rising 10 more positions into the top 30. Every aspect of Litecky's game is getting better and college coaches we've talked to about Ava are intrigued by her potential. We feel confident saying that Ava has a shot at Division 1 college basketball.

+10 – If we had to use one word to describe Anna it would be “sleeper.” She made it through three rankings cycles with little notice before making the list last fall at #82. We just didn't know what we didn't know. Now we do know and you should to. Smelser is one of the most underappreciated, most versatile contributors in the class, a player who impacts the game across the scoresheet. Anna led Armstrong in scoring at just under 12 ppg while averaging 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals, but it is her sheer level of effort, energy and intensity that really stands out. She moves up 10 spots.

+9 – It's not easy to follow a player like Liz Gadient playing point guard for one of the most-successful programs in the state. Now at MSU-Mankato, Gadient is one of the best to ever do it. If you've watched Goodhue this winter, however, then you know that Lola has more than held her own during the transition. She turned in a big-time performance on opening weekend at the Breakdown Tipoff Classic and set the tone for the quality season that was to come. Since playing a huge role in the Wildcats' state championship run last season, Christianson has gotten taller and stronger and more confident. Lola rises 9 positions in the 2027 rankings.

+8 – If you read our weekly recap two weeks ago – The Week That Was #12: All in the (Brekke) family – then you know that Lexi comes from a long line of ballers who have enjoyed incredible success at both the high school and collegiate levels. If you've seen Lexi play live (and not many have just yet) then it should be obvious that she is carrying on the family traditions rather well. This summer Lexi will take center stage in AAU basketball and coaches need to watch. In every class there are very few players with the potential to play forward at the D1 level. Lexi is one of them. She rises 8 places to #33.
