When you look at the talent in the state of WV, the 4A is loaded! I don't predict any upsets at this time with the 4A squads!

First, I want to break down the 4A Region 1.

The first state qualifier is Morgantown. [player_tooltip player_id='722078' first='Kayli' last='Kellogg'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1118516' first='Tatum' last='DeVries'] just knocked down 10 threes against a tough Nitro team. Kellogg had 5 and DeVries also had 5. The two are coach's daughters, but never let that overshadow the time that these athletes put in. After all, it is the athlete that has to put in the time to get better! These two are shooting it at a high clip. Again, Kellogg is a generational talent that is fun to watch! [player_tooltip player_id='1217547' first='Lucie' last='Hatcher'] has been playing big time minutes. Hatcher continues to do her part doing the dirty work and rebounding! The biggest X factor is mentioned below:

Jones has great length and size. She plays physical and she knows how to use her strength to overwhelm smaller defenders! She is not just a scorer. Sadaya is one of the best two-way athletes in the state. She has the ability to guard anyone on the court and she knows how to dominate on both sides! If Sadaya continues to dominate on both ends, she will lead her team to a championship. Jones provides a tremendous amount of senior leadership!

I am taking the 3 seed, Wheeling Park to be a state qualifier.

After all, can you really take anyone over a team that Bordas is on? Remember in the overtime win over Nitro, Bordas scored 42. Maggie Hupp played great scoring 10 points and adding 10 rebounds in that one. Hupp played great and Wheeling Park will need that play from Maggie! Bordas finished with another double-double in the most recent win over Parkersburg South! She scored 34 points and added 11 steals in that win! In my opinion, there is no stopping Bordas and her ability to take her team to state! The X factor:

Miller is extremely unselfish. Karringtyn is an incredibly important piece for this Wheeling Park team. At times during the season, Miller was the only other athlete to join Bordas in double figure scoring. Offensively, Miller is a sharpshooter that can knock down the outside shots. She continues to play with high energy. Defensively, she gets after it every possession. She doesn't take a play off. Miller is a young sophomore, but I think she will play huge in these closing games to give Wheeling Park a chance to repeat.

Next, we have the 4A, Region 2!

The number 1 seed Washington will be a state qualifier. Miriangelis Rivera is playing spectacular! Remember, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." Rivera continues to play huge for her Washington squad! The duo between Rivera and [player_tooltip player_id='387358' first='Lexi' last='Adams'] is fun to watch! Lexi continues to shine when the lights are the brightest. Adams isn't finished with high school just yet, but Point Park is going to love when she arrives on campus! The X factor:

In my opinion, Perry is the X factor to help take this Washington team to states. Washington needs Perry to dominate the paint and play to her strengths! Timia has put up huge numbers; like 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals in a win over Musselman! She has also put up numerous double-doubles this season. Perry has the right mentality & she battles hard! Keep your eyes on the young sophomore!

In my opinion, the 2 seed Spring Mills will be a state qualifier.

Spring Mills has a great senior in [player_tooltip player_id='384008' first='Kilah' last='Dandridge']. Dandridge is excellent in the mid-range. She is the team's leading scorer and continues to put up good numbers! [player_tooltip player_id='979345' first='Briana' last='King'] continues to play great basketball! The senior is one of the fastest at turning defense to offense! King is one of the most efficient athletes! The duo, Dandridge and King are highly skilled and I have no doubts that they will continue to lead their team!

Now, let's head to the 4A Region 3!

St. Albans will be a state qualifier!

St. Albans has the senior leadership throughout their team. They have next level athletes! [player_tooltip player_id='389206' first='Samyah' last='Riggan'], [player_tooltip player_id='389208' first='Jaycee' last='Elzy'], [player_tooltip player_id='427094' first='Jaelyn' last='Vance'], and the list goes on with athletes stepping up and playing at an elite level! The Lady Dragons are the number 1 seed for a reason. This team is clicking on all cylinders! The defensive intensity that they play with is next level. I would not be surprised if St. Albans makes a deep run.

The number 2 seed, George Washington will be a state qualifier!

[player_tooltip player_id='718028' first='Jeriyah' last='Pryor'] and [player_tooltip player_id='721985' first='Rayana' last='Breckenridge'] may be young sophomores, but they will lead this GW team to states! Both of these athletes are gifted, and next level athletes! They are both highly skilled in their own way. The X factor for George Washington:

Smith's senior leadership will be imperative for her GW team to make it to states and to make a deep run. Nasiya has put up huge numbers in numerous games this season. Look back to when she put up 25 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal against Cabell Midland. She filled up an entire stat sheet against Hurricane when she poured in 10 points, and added 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, & 1 block. Smith can continue to fill up an entire stat sheet. She's relentless and does whatever is needed for her team!

Last, we have the 4A, Region 4!

I'll take Spring Valley, please! I have been impressed with this Spring Valley team all season. This team has the make up to win a state championship! You have the power workhorse in [player_tooltip player_id='384101' first='Allie' last='Daniels']. You have [player_tooltip player_id='728706' first='Sophi' last='Hutchinson'] running the point! You have [player_tooltip player_id='384100' first='Dria' last='Parker'], [player_tooltip player_id='570278' first='Brooklyn' last='Ellis'], and [player_tooltip player_id='384069' first='Ella' last='Giles']! Players come off the bench and continue to provide good minutes for this team!

I'm taking the 3 seed Parkersburg to be a state qualifier!

Parkersburg has one of the most dominant players in [player_tooltip player_id='653258' first='Kennedy' last='Porter']. They also have [player_tooltip player_id='722013' first='Sophie' last='Lott'], [player_tooltip player_id='640828' first='Lauren' last='Flanagan'], and [player_tooltip player_id='722020' first='Frances' last='Guice']! This Parkersburg team also has the make up to make a deep run and potentially upset a few teams in the state tournament. Their guards are taking care of the ball and playing non-stop defense. They have arguably the best post in the state in Kennedy! This team is special!

Morgantown

Wheeling Park

Washington

Spring Mills

St. Albans

George Washington

Spring Valley

Parkersburg

When you look at the above teams, they have next level athletes! Those are my predictions to make it to states! Who will win? I don't really want to choose one. There is so much to love about these squads. However, predictions is what can make this fun. I will give the nod to Spring Valley!

Stay tuned to see who makes it to states!

When you look at the talent in the state of WV, the 4A is loaded! I don't predict any upsets at this time with the 4A squads!
