Cumberland University Pre-Qualification Game Highlights

Here in action Boyd Christian will take on Gatlinburg-Pittman and&nbsp; Nolensville will go to battle with Greeneville. All four of these teams have had a pretty good season thus far. Filled with some adversity, these clubs were able to compete on the hardwood floor and give district foes fits along the way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Lady Broncos of Boyd Christian have a young group of girls who play solid as a unit. These girls went 25-12 overall and 13-1 in the district. They were too much for their district opponents as they brought a balanced attack into play.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gatlinburg-Pittman brought the boom to the game as they were driven by a talented crop of juniors. This club was 19-11 overall, but finished 8-2 in the district. This club is known for their tenacious defense and their ability to pressure their opponent into turnovers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the second game we see Nolensville and Greeneville. Nolensville brings speed and a lof of outside shooting into the fold. A young team who can spread the floor out to create driving lanes and open shots. This team was 23-4 overall, and 13-2 in the district. The Lady Knights are considered an up and coming program that are about to take off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Greeneville Greene Devils are solid group of girls who finoished 20-10 overall and finished first in their district with a 8-0 record. They were strong on their interior and brought the physicality to each and every contest. Can stretch the floor out, but makes her money moving block to block. She's the number one option for the Lady Broncos, which the offense runs through her. Her ability to finish is impressive, but also her ability to pass the ball when pressure arrives is a nice quality to have. She is poised with the ball in her hands. Doesn't get rattled. Has a great feel for the game. She solid on the defensive end where she blocks shots and contributes on the boards. She can beat you from the arc, but then get downhill and finish at the rim. She is efficient on the offensive end, but also very effective defensively. She keeps the opposition in front by sliding her feet, being active by getting deflections and steals. She is a solid two-way player who impacts the game in so many ways. No matter what it is, this girl is going to try to win at whatever it may be. She may smile at you first, but deep down she is ready to do battle. A hustler who gets after it on both ends of the floor. Offensively she can spray you from afar or put the ball on the floor and finish in the paint. She's a bulldog and will go straight at you without hesitation. Defensively, she is going to put you in a seatbelt. Pray your PG can handle the rock because if not, your girl is going to get stripped. Can work both from the arc and inside, but prides herself on grabbing boards, getting steals, and blocking shots. Moves her body well as she if fundamentally sound on the defensive end. She may not be the leading scorer on her team, but her impact is felt in other aspects of the game. She's the girl who is going to get an assignment from her coach and fulfill it and then some. She is going to do whatever it takes to help her team win. She has great speed, tremendous footwork, can finish from the arc, muscle up shots in the paint. This kid has a motor that she utilizes on both ends of the floor. Great reactionary skills, she reads a situation well and then strikes. From time to time you can see her bait the opposition into turnovers. Her defensive abilities lead to extra possessions for her club. BC came out the gates strong getting it done on the interior. GP turned up the pressure on D, guarding them full court, which led to some careless passes. BC got it together in the end and were able to force GP into overtime. Nolensville was able to pack in it, control the boards, and force turnovers, which led to their victory.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both Gatlinburg-Pittman and Nolensville will battle it out in order to go to the February Frenzy.
